  1. Having lived for nearly 80 years, I have come to believe we all are born with a curse of one type or another (nothing in the Bible to substantiate this belief). It's what we do about this curse that will determine our worthiness in God's eyes. Most choose to follow the path of least resistance.
  2. Your fight is with God, not with me.
  3. I would never force "my religion" on you or anyone else, even if I could. You are asking questions of a Christian and I am trying to answer you as best as I can. The color of your skin as far as I know, is not a sin. Some have taken a portion of the Bible and tried to use that as a means to subugate black people. Discrimination exists all over the world, by all people, regardless of color of their skin. According to God, homosexuality is a sin. If you are going to excuse homosexuality because its a part of their nature, then we need to excuse rapists, murderes, cleptomaniacs etc, because its in their nature. All are sins according to God's word.
  4. As mentioned in the other forum, my nextdoor neighbors are homosexual. I still care for them very much. They are very good neighbors but God says they are sinners and have no place with him. If they repent of their sins, they will be forgiven. That is a promise as stated in the Bible.
  5. You will have to give me your definition of a cult please. People assign their definition to many organizations, both religious and secular.
  6. "gave himself up as a sacrifice in order to establish a New Covenant." Not to establish a new covenant, but to provide a way to God because of our sins. Because of our sins, we cannot approach God. Jesus died on the cross to atone for our sins, he placed all our sins, past present and future on himself so that if we accept his sacrifice, it will clear a path to God. If we refuse to accept His gift we are doomed to spend eternity in Hell. The new covenant is just his promise to do what he said his sacrifice would accomplish.
  7. Pretty much, this is true as stated previously. There are "laws" that still apply to everyone, such as the 10 commandments but remember the greatest commandment is to "love God with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself". Matthew 22: 35-40
  8. Please remember that the laws were given only to the Israelites. This was, for the most part, for their safety. The rest of the laws and punishments were to let the people know that God is the Creator and he views certain behavior as evil. This is where most people fail to connect. Most people think God has no right to dictate behavior on his creation. That's because most don't believe there is a God or that he has anymore say in the matter. The Bible says 100% opposite. So, it really boils down to... do you believe there is a God or not.
  9. Motown, your impression is flawed. They need prayer and discipline from their father. Big problem in America today, too many kids without a loving father. pfife, there are some sins that are beyond forgiveness (the unforgivable sin). This does not apply to homosexuality. I recommend the following link. I think it explains the situation very well. https://www.gotquestions.org/homosexuality-death-penalty.html Happy to answer all questions. I am far from an expert. If I don't know the answer, I'll direct you to a person that can correctly explain the Christian belief.
  10. I don't know if you are a parent. Picture yourself with a child. If that child is "good", I would assume you would love that child. If that child became unruly, would you still love that child? I would, but I would insist that child be disciplined, to correct an unruly behavior. I believe God works in a similar manner and the Bible confirms that.
  11. I appreciate your openness Lee. You are correct that if you don't believe there is a God, you won't believe the Bible is an accurate book to live by. Matthew 22: 1–14 The best argument for me is the fact that nothing in the Bible has ever been proven wrong. It seems like every year a new "find" has proven the Bible to be accurrate. There are still a few predictions the Bible says will happen at the end times. We may or may not be around to see them. Just as all predictions from the Bible have proven correct so far, I feel the future will unfortunately, see the remainder fulfilled.
  12. You'll have to be more specific. Why do you think I have lost "my" argument?
  13. So you do agree Jesus is known as the Word according to God as read in the Bible? Next step is to read Leviticus because it is the Word of God and Leviticus says homosexuality is a sin. We really should take this discussion outside this forum.
  14. We should probably continue this discussion outside the forum. Is there a way to do this?
  15. I think the behavior always defines the person.
  16. I would love to discuss this philosophy with you outside this forum. :-)
  17. Sorry gehringer, you are way off base. It is very much biblical and has been "Christian" ever since creation. As far as living like other people, I live next door to "married" homosexual guys. They are indeed good citizens. There lifestye is a sin as indicated by the Bible. Leviticus 18:22, 20:13
  18. Wrong Tiger337. Jesus did say that homosexuality is a sin. Start with John 1:1. If you don't get it, send me a message.
  19. I would suggest you study the Bible a little closer. There is a difference between "loving" someone and endorsing a sinful lifestyle as descibed by Jesus. He was the one that threw the money changers out of the temple. If you refuse to accept Jesus (and his rules) you have no place with Him.
  20. You could be me, even the coaches and managers are younger that me.
  21. I would agree, Greene makes the team unless he strikes out over the next 15 at bats. Tork is still on the fence. If he improves his play over the next week he will probably go north with the team. If his play decreases, he will start in Toledo.
  22. He's getting there, but think of my time when there was only radio.
  23. Definitely some great collections on here.
  24. All Tigers at one point of their career.
