Probably. I did not pay much attention back then. So far the book is definitely adding a ton to the movie. For the most part it is sticking to the plot...a few things are different, but I am still enjoying the book.

Stafford watch (A place for Stafford discussion)

Yeah this whole thing is a joke IMO. I hate the world we live in. -
I had a discussion about this the other day with another group. How long do ya'll think it will take for them to rebuild?

I get it, these guys are different etc, but I am not sure I could turn that much money down...putting in perspective If I currently make an average salary in the USA of around 53,000.00 the equivalent of min salary in the MLB 570,500.00 and someone offered me 2,500,000.00 a year raise......even if I thought I could hold out for 3,250,000.00 as long as my production does not decrease....that would just be hard to turn down.

I have seent the movie Contact many times...really enjoy it. Looking for a new Space Themed book to listen to after finishing up Hail Mary....I had no idea Carl Sagas Contact was the movie one...I got about 20 minutes into the book when I realized the names were sounding familiar. I am pretty bummed about it, but I did love the movie and the book is always better...

It is like they swallow the whistle the whole game...then when it gets close they tighten up. It is really a no win situation for them...if they call them as they see them, the game will become unwatchable, if they only call them at the end of the game it is "why not all game". I see penalties ALL OVER THE place when I watch these games....flags I KNOW will be thrown when I watch Lions games or bad teams, but that are rarely called against the good teams. I mean it is what it is...I do not think there is a conspiracy, but I do think it is human nature to know a team blows and to see fouls everywhere and to see good teams and just let it play out. It is not fair at all, never has been, but it is what it is. It does not really bother me any more because I removed the emotion from it for the most part, but it is an interesting thing to watch...just the "human element" part of it because it is nowhere close to consistent. -

I am happy for him, but it reflects nothing on Detroit. I was not going to be upset if they lost, but I was happy they won I was rooting for them. I am beyond done arguing with Stafford haters...they are just illogical. -

It is almost the exact opposite when you at Grants time....we won waay more with him out. Still shocked they could not move him, but I guess the other teams know what most of us already do. I am sick of watching other players pass up good shots to throw it back to him...it is like a mandate from the coach or something. Yesterday I saw sooo many times a player had a good shot and passed it up to a covered Grant for him to jack up a shot. -
Music...even certain noises or sounds that you maybe were not even aware were in the background during certain times of your life will almost always trigger a response to feel how or what you were feeling when you heard it. I do not know the exact physiology behind it, but your brain must be going through a dramatic change when you hit puberty because 99% of the population will tell you the music when they were younger is the best music. All those experiences of becoming a man or a woman along with whatever other changes are going on in your body just make you more susceptible to that dopamine. I wonder if they did the research (which I am sure it out there somewhere) what that age is in the majority of people...I would assume 13-14. For me I think it is a range from 13-15.

Should The Olympics (as we know them) come to an end?
John_Brian_K replied to Motor City Sonics's topic in General Discussion
As far as the Olympics coming to an end....I know what MCS is saying...not to stop having them just change the locations in ways that may help take politics out of it. I think politics has ALWAYS played a part in them, but again we are in a 24 hour news cycle with the internet...everything gets out so I think it feels like there is more now, but it is probably pretty par for the course. I do like the idea of certain areas always hosting certain things...you would have to divvy it all up though so it was fair to all the main nations of the world. Even then someone would claim "x country" is getting the "better" events or something...I do not think there would EVER be an end to the bickering. -

I saw that as well...dude was LIVID. He was like "I have been doing this for 30 years and have NO IDEA how that was not a 98...where are the deductions?" as they showed the replay. I am also not skilled enough in the sport to have any idea, but it was an American commentator talking about a Japanese boarder so it is not like it was a bias thing. From my unskilled eye there were a few runs that seemed to get waay more than they should have and some who got shafted. I turned it off after Shawn Whites last run ended with him ditching. -
Watched the game when it was 2-2 in the first then had to finish up Book Of Fett before bed...woke up and saw they won 6-3...good on you boys!

Inches away from being a Sheffield special. Seeing that clip brought back some memories...seeing that stance and the way he just stood there

I was just letting you know because the links were for things like buying tickets and I just assumed you got a piece of that when purchased from this site.

He is married to a non male, but she is kinda into sports..
-
Doubt the dude I am friends with is here. He is not a big sports guy.

I like stuff about space and have not read anything on this movie. I will watch for sure.
-
Maybe. I would not wish that fate on the person, but I am also not crying for the person either.

Hopefully the idiot tailgater learned a valuable lesson....I dare to dream.
-
The tailgater 100%, but the truck definitely deserves a share for speeding up.
-
I normally use a plow attached to my mower with weights and chains added, but got lazy and just paid some dude to use his truck plow...I am not sure if I will ever go back to doing it myself.
