2015: evgeniy schvechnikov, no second round pick 2016: dennis cholowski, givani smith, filip hronek 2017: michael rasmussen, gustav lindstrom 2018: filip zadina, joe veleno, jonatan berggren, and jared mcisaac. those drafts should be the foundation of this team. and all you got out of it was hronek (who was dealt in a good trade), and a third and fourth line wingers. that's pathetic. i wouldnt trade raymond or seider for all of those guys.

i cant wait for yzerman's #6 pick in the draft to ride the bench in the swiss league.
-
the only time i've rooted for draymond greene is when he punched jordan poole in the face. cant stand jordan poole.
-
joe veleno centering the 4th line with bertuzzi on the wing for the hawks tonight. just to let everyone know the talent level the wings accumulated during the late ken holland era.
-
welp.

haliburton is out and the bulls are routing the pacers. and luka was 8-25 in his first non-lebron game and the lakers lost to the nets. a nice present for nico, cause he needs one right now.

they've run into some bad shooting luck lately. that's why the beginning of this year just killed them. it took them being the hottest team in hockey for a month just to get back to average. that was never going to last. other than the third period in washington theyve outplayed their opponents in most of their recent games, they've just lost. be it bad goaltending by us or hot goaltending by the other guys, it hasnt worked out.

i'm not breaking the bank for Levi.
-
jarrett supppsedly signed with the bears.
-
maybe on a cheap deal, i'd be worried about the miles on him. i think the lions will get at least one dt and use some draft capital to get another. good draft for dline.
-
bears have really improved their interior oline. still not sure about their tackles, but they still have the #10 pick as well as carolina's second rounder.
-
i love stevie and i think he has done a good job building farm depth, but this summer was an absolute disaster.
-
matas is taller and longer. dont know if he ever puts on enough weight to be solid enough to play d. ron is solid enough, but i dont know what he's good at other than trying real hard. matas is more projectable and has a higher ceiling if he fills out. both their shots are broke right now. but we'll see. being a rookie on a bad team isnt always a good indicator of how good someone actually is.

a finesse winger not from sweden doesnt really sound like am yzerman type player.

bunch of old men on this thread talking about maladies. lol.

remember when scoot henderson was a cant miss prospect?

im beginning to think buzelis was a better pick than holland.

smith wasnt very good for detroit last year and is now a year older. i guess if they can get him for cheap it would be ok. like they did with davenport. but there are lots of other options out there who are younger and with more upside OR better veterans. they need depth up front considering mcneil is out for most of next season and levi is a free agent, so they might have to settle for smith on a small deal. i always felt the idea of hutch learning moves from old vets to be the most overrated, fan driven thing in the world. hutch has more moves now than smith or davenport have ever had.

cooper flagg...

not on that contract. wisely, the lions released him this morning. they can bring him back on a better deal if they choose, although there are much better choices out there, albeit more expensive choices.
-
close but no cigar.
-
i love steph, but draymond and jimmy butler on the same team make the warriors the most hateable team in the league.
-
i do wonder what they could have gotten for rasmussen this deadline. third line centers were going for first and second rounders...

if we could have been in position to draft nathan mackinnan and cale makar, i could cede the colorado point, but they werent. i think yzerman has done a great job of drafting and developing. last year he signed some quality vets to get the team to average. this offseason was a disaster other than signing raymond and seider to good contracts. whomever is in charge of nhl scouting needs to be fired. the walman trade was a disaster. tarasenko is a disaster. gustaffson is a disaster. motte is useless. but the plan was always - imo - to rebuild around seider and raymond. they should be able to do that as soon as next year. there's no point of trading multiple picks for guys who are almost 30 for this team. theyre not there. i thought yzerman waa right on track until this offseason. now i still give him the benefit of the doubt, but i think we need to see something this offseason.

another shorthanded goal. another TERRIBLE PLAY BY GUSTAFFSON, as he fails to keep the puck in and no one bothers to cover for him leads to a breakaway. abaolutely pathetic 3rd period from the usual suspects.
