  1. the pre draft consensus from the internet seema to have him in round 2. compared to desmond ridder. ridder was also a 3rd round pick, was a below average starter, and then was traded for slot receiver rondale moore.
  2. boo
  3. they better end up picking 5th.
  4. dont fall in love with a player in a contract year. think of the big picture. two first round picks next year might be enough to trade for a second star.
  5. coby white has been hurt a lot lately. he's actually been less available than lonzo of late.
  6. he also gave them a chance. kasper was relegated to 3rd/4th line duty under lalonde.
  7. i wouldnt be surprised if sanders falls to the raiders. ive seen a lot of mocks with that happening. but then again, qbs always get overdrafted so maybe not.
  8. trey lance was traded for a 4th round pick. kenny pickett plus a 4th round pick was traded for a third round pick and a pair of 7th rounders. those were both former first round picks who failed. both are also younger than hooker, trey lance is much younger. not sure hooker would net more than either of those guys. is it worth giving up on him for a 6th round pick or a chance to exchange a 5th to move up into the 4th? not sure. we dont see him in practice every day. i'd rather just ride with hooker and see if he pans out as a decent backup.
  9. it doesnt matter what program he plays at, he's still going to be a top pick in the nfl draft. the young man should make as much money as he can now. if that's a raise from ohio state or a raise from usc or a raise from alabama, he should take it.
  10. lonzo with 16 tonight so far. 4/7 from 3 as chicago is about to close out denver.
  11. shows how far off detroit is from the elite.
  12. they better end up picking 5th.
  13. i worry about lonzo's shot, but he handle the ball, is a willing passer, and plays defense. and he's a free agent after this year. lavine would be the play if they were "going for it" this year, but lonzo would be a nice play that would allow them to build on ivey next year (which lavine would not) and would help them with a lot of their deficiencies this year (secondary ball handler for cade, willing passer) and build on their young players' strengths and potential identity (defense). i like lonzo to the pistons for some second round fodder.
  14. great win. kasper developing into a hard working player with just enough skill to be dangerous is a very nice development.
  15. assuming the best candidates for oc and dc are in-house is hubris.
  16. i want to see finnie play in a better league before i get too excited, but its hard not to be impressed. i have a feeling asp is in detroit next year. but who goes to make room for him?
  17. i would not have made that trade either.
  18. would you have traded a couple picks, raymond and kasper for rantanen? and then tried to sign him for 8×14?
  19. see if they call up watson...
  20. so does kucherov get suspended for that? i'd be stunned if they did anything. the nhl never does anything to players who intentionally injure red wings.
  21. good win. still hanging in there. unfortunately, so is every other team in the east not named buffalo.
  22. so much in life is timing, luck, and who you know.
  23. but he wasnt any good as an assistant. its really an example of the "old boy's club." he was hired because matha ford had no idea who to hire so she went to the league for help. the league calls ernie accorsi, who was a good gm 40 years ago but hasnt done anything except collect retirement checks and occasional nfl consulting gigs since. ernie is the ultimate nfl old boy living off his rolodex. so who does he call? belichick, another old boy. belichick recommends bob quinn from his staff, martha hires him, and quinn brings along patricia a year later. patricia's defenses in new england werent really that good, especially compared to past new england defenses.
  24. trade him for what? a conditional 7th? the lions benched him for a high school football coach, why would any other team trade anything of value for that? the only team i can think that would do that would be the jets or bears because of their coaching staffs. i actually think the bridgewater stuff was lions hubris and not a cut at hooker. next preseason determines if hooker stays or goes. he's not a young man. this should be his prime. but not everyone moves on the same schedule development-wise.
  25. campbell has made mistskes at coordinator before, but he then rectifies the mistake by firing guys and making better hires. we'll see how these turn out.
