  1. the pistons are currently down 30 halfway through the 3rd. their identity is "suck". i'm being a smart ass and snarky, but they have to rebuild this entire team. you just sat through the most incompetent rebuild in nba history. you went from bad to the worst team in franchise history FOUR YEARS INTO THE REBUILD. its going to take a while to get out kf this. cade is a keeper. ivey might be. but that's it. ausar is a good defensive prospect who isnt playing. holland is a role player glue guy. duren is about to be an overpaid andre drummond. thats it. i think theyre ****ed until gores sells the team but they might get lucky and get a #1 or #2 pick out of this that could save them. if they dont, they will be a ****ty team no matter how many "hard nose" vets they bring in to "change the culture." they had a chance to change the culture and hired a nepobaby in jb bickerstaff. they are ****ed. their only hope is to get a franchise player to play with cade. in other words, they HAVE to lose. that's the only chance they have unless gores sells.
  2. your optimism is adorable. 🙂
  3. the goal this year remains the same: lose for draft position. knowing that, hardaway and harris make a lot of sense.
  4. sasser is too small and wont be in the nba much longer. just another weaver bust on the pile. harris is old, slow, and hasnt done much of anything outside of a decent quarter or two against philly's bench. he was a waste of money at the time and his only real purpose will be as a salary dump for a future second round pick next year.
  5. harris has also been dog ****.
  6. what would you have done? who would you have traded for?
  7. philly without embiid OR george? they should win this game. philly is not taking them seriously.
  8. in hindsight, do you deal Larkin in the beginning and totally tank?
  9. you deal oli maata and it all falls apart! lol.
  10. positioning and strength matter in defense too, but getting petry to add to maata, chairot, and holl does not inspire confidence that the pro scouting department knows what its doing, or that yzerman has a vision for how the team should play. fast? dump and chase with size? strength? i'm not sure what the vision is other than "wait for my draft picks to develop and in the meantime i will acquire veterans who play sound hockey but have marginal skill (copp, compher, maata, petry) to bridge the gap." maybe i just answered my own question?
  11. maybe he's too blinded by the wings' previous success with human pylon larry murphy? 🙂
  12. legitimate criticism.
  13. jamo isnt going anywhere this year. the odds of the lions picking up his 5th year option might have just decreased a bit...
  14. finding anyone to give anything for maata is good. its the rangers' 3rd rounder so its basically a 4th. that said, its money off the books and gives us a chance to 1) keep kasper up when motte comes back; 2) clear room to potentially add kane's bonus to this year's cap which will create more cap room next year; 3) give johannson more time in the big leagues.
  15. Detroit trades maata to utah for a third round pick? now? why? not that maata was any good, but the timing seems....interesting?
  16. the lions are the #1 team in dvoa for the first time ever. 45 years of ratings.
  17. for all of you who loved the tobias harris signing, he's been awful. still early of course, but the results have not been good. cade in the 4th quarter has been bad. cade in the first three quarters has been very good and much improved. he looks stronger and he's getting to the rim. you have to figure that at some point in his career the refs start to give him some respect? i imagine if he were on a team that wins games he would get that respect. but alas...
  18. 0-4! seems an awful lot like last year's team..what we really need is a beat writer to tell us they'd be 2-2 if only ausar was playing. he's the glue that pulls it all together.
  19. cade had a good half...
  20. hilarious.
  21. well right, it is overwhelmingly likely that neither garrett nor crosby are traded. that doesnt mean if they WERE traded you'd have to give up multiple #1s to do it. a smaller trade is more likely.
  22. there is no other way to get one than to overpay.
  23. two more years of andrew copp at $5.625m is just brutal.
