looks like twitter confirmation that bert stays put. red wings look done unless they end up shipping greiss somewhere. send out a forward and a defenseman and bring back two defensemen. no room at the inn for berggren?
-
i think it went down almost as quickly as it went up.

green bay is the only good team in the north. dallas is good. philly is frisky. washington and the giants are terrible. tampa bay is good (no wonder brady came back). atlanta, carolina, and the saints are awful. rams and niners are good, but who plays qb for the niners? do people trust lance? do people trust the cardinals after so many late season meltdowns? the seahawks are rebuilding. on paper its green bay, dallas, tampa, and the rams. then maybe the niners, cards, and eagles? at least one of those teams is going to turn out to be bad, and there will be at least one bad team that surprises people. my money would be on the cardinals sucking amd either the vikings or washington surprising people. but who knows? maybe harad goff pulls a rabbit out of his hat and the lions luck into a wild card?

i still think their ceiling is 8 wins, but in this conference 8 wins might get you a wild card. or the division if rodgers gets hurt.

good trade for indy. ryan will be good for them. atlanta is effed. god, the nfc is going to be SO BAD next year.

cade started slow, but he's been the best rookie in calendar year 2022. barnes and franz have been a pleasant surprise too. 6'6 to 6'8ish, athletic, and with a jump shot is the way to go in the nba nowadays. -
and look, you guys said leddy had no value! that said, getting a second and parts for leddy is a good deal. i would have thought a couple thirds would be the most we get. and the players we got are just meh, but they'll probably slot in as the second or third best defensemen on the team. sigh.

i'm pretty sure both parties will do anything to stay in power. republicans complaining about the democrats' tactics at the last confirmation is just silly politics. republicans do the same thing. hawley tried to trash kentaji brown for being "soft on criminals" as a judge for her sentences regarding sex offenders then legal twitter did its thing and showed that gorsuch and roberts had both ruled similarly to her in a supreme court case. so stfu hawley.

adult like ted cruz, who took some time to hype his podcast? i bet he has some cool crypto advice too. look, these hearings are ridiculously stupid. a dog and pony show for senators to check off a few boxes that will please their major donors and that they can use in campaign fundraising commercials. "look at me emily's list and naral! i totally railed at brett kavanaugh cause he's a rapist and amy barrett cause she's a religious freak!" "look at me pro lifers as i totally skewer kentaji brown for wanting to kill babies!" its all a joke. dont pay attention to any of it.

are teams really ready to give up a top ten-ish pick for jerami grant? -
oh no. he found us!
-
i dont see how you can not like this deal for the twins. they got the best player on the market for a short term deal that keeps him motivated amd allows him to reset again next year if he wants and makes him the highest paid player at his position. win-win.
-
in another year you could do something crazy, like sign carlos correa!
-
we may have the inferior player, but we have him for TWICE as long! ha! take that, twinkies.
-
correa's contract over baez's decline years any day of the week. correa is much better than baez.
-
his contract is not small.
-
the stat heads will be pissed considering they value stetcher more than anyone else seems to.
-
tom brady did the same thing before deflategate.
-
that's as equally plausible as my theory. on the one hand, when money is available, the people come out of the woodwork. on the other hand, that's a lot of smoke for there to be NO fire.

leafs waive mrazek...

no normal american goes to prison for having sex with prostitutes (maybe a day?). you get probation and socially humiliated. as you know, the grand jury is the prosecutor's best case. there is no defense there. and they still couldnt get the most basic of charges against him. obviously, whatever they presented didnt work in my uneducated opinion, i think most people werent convinced these "massage therapists" didnt know exectly what they were getting into, and that this is largely a profit driven exercise by a politically ambitious plaintiff's lawyer who ran for governor last time out, and a bunch of women who are piling on hoping to get a nice settlement check. i could be wrong. but i find the idea of watson as a "serial rapist" to be far fetched. i think he's a dude who likes the no attachment sex that comes from prostitutes. however, i recognize i could be very wrong. but im not one to jump aboard the "wont someone please think of the children!!!!!!" morality play easily.

how is that "not how this works"?

that can still be a devastating injury. i know we hear about okudah and okwara "doing great" and all that, and akers came back early (but did he play well?), but i'm awfully wary of guys built on athleticism and twitchiness coming back 100% from that kind of injury. he may never be the same. 66 is fine for such a risk, i suppose. but if i'm the lions with so mamy other needs to fill, it would really depend on who else is there.
