My son does that with Ryobi stuff, at least the smaller tools.

My Honda gas-powered mower is 3-4 years old & the starter assembly is shot already. Very surprised by this, but am waiting for a quote on fixing it. Very tempted to just get a battery-powered mower for my smallish yard. It takes about 90 minutes to mow the whole thing. My concern is Consumer Reports wouldn't even rate battery-powered mowers until recently because they all sucked so bad.

Yeah, I could see that happening exactly the opposite way.

I'm as excited & optimistic as the next guy, but I could see us starting out 4-5 & having people panic, & then winning the last 8 in a row.

Anybody else think he looks like Luke Skywalker coming off a bender?

I routinely ask waitresses what they do with all the extra gluten & can I get a discount on it.

I saw the Colts released Nick Foles. I'd be okay with him as a backup to Goff.

I heard an analysis yesterday from Dan Orlovsky I think, about the fact that the AFC is a much more pass-happy conference & the NFC tends toward the running game more - which is why the Gibbs/Campbell picks make better sense for the Lions. That may be overly simplistic - I'm not even sure whether it's accurate, but it would explain things a bit.

I don't think either one of them has any business being pissed. Every team needs more than 1 QB, & there are only 32 people on the planet who are starting NFL QBs. If Hooker is smart, he will learn everything he can & put the work in as if he were going to start - If he wastes his time being pissed at stupid stuff like other QB contracts he will go on the trash heap with the Jamarcus Russell's of the world. I think he's a little more with it than that - & I trust that Brad Holmes knows that, which is why he was picked.

I had blocked out that entire tenure in my mind. This may set me back a while. 😉

I thought so too, at least as far as the draft is concerned. Though he did bring in Snacks Harrison, & he may see Martin as the same kind of player.

Not a huge fan of the Hooker pick... Thought they'd add a DT there

I've become a Goff apologist - I would not risk a move like Anthony Richardson, because if you're not accurate against college defenders, you're not gonna be accurate against NFL defenses - & while I am concerned about Stroud's S2 scores, if he does fall I would be fine with taking him - or preferably trading down to a team that wants a QB. I'd rather see Stroud than a CB or TE at 6. At this point, I'd even warm up to Bijan at 6 & trading Swift.

I don't usually like to hope people get injured, but if he doesn't play 65% of snaps & GB loses that extra first, I wouldn't cry.

Yep. Faith-based entertainment has gotten a bad rap for a reason, but this is SO well shot & written. The character development is phenomenal.

I ran across an article that breaks career length down this way, by position: Link Kickers/Punters — 4.87 Quarterbacks — 4.44 Offensive Linemen — 3.63 Defensive Linemen — 3.24 Linebackers — 2.97 Cornerbacks — 2.94 Tight Ends — 2.85 Wide Receivers — 2.81 Running Backs — 2.57 Granted RBs are lowest, but even punters don't average 5 years. I think you gotta pick talent first, & I think both you & Buddha agree on that. If you keep picking the best talent, you'll give yourself a better chance at building a winning franchise, not just for the next season.

Given everything Holmes & DC have said about looking for good locker room guys, I would tend to agree - however, I also don't think they're all that conventional. They may believe they have a good enough locker room right now that they can take a swing at the one player at a position of need that could make all the difference. I don't believe they're afraid of the narrative.

Kancey's tape is pretty good. I know he's undersized, but as a pass rusher on the inside he gets after it. We can always just use him on passing downs - though I suppose you want a little more playing time out of a first rounder.

Can Detroit Find Trading Partner For Javier Báez?
djhutch replied to UCFKNIGHT's topic in Detroit Tigers
I've tried to think of another signing that was this bad in Tigers' history. I know the Zimmerman signing wasn't great. We paid too much for Prince, but got out of that. I can't remember a contract that was supposed to be such a big splash end with such an enormous thud. -
I purposely made a 2023 thread so I wouldn't have to relive that. Thanks. 🤕 😁

I've come to feel like Holmes & DC view TEs on the offensive side the way they view LBs on the defensive side. I know DC was a TE, but in this offense they are not utilized to the point of needing to spend that kind of draft capital to get one.
