True, though Grand Rapids' defense was not great last season! I think if Cossa sustained his all star level play last season and didn't flounder in the second half, Yzerman might have pivoted away from the Gibson trade and let Cossa compete with Mrazek(or insert mid vet here)/Talbot for a spot out of camp. I hope this season he can sustain his high level of play all season in the AHL and force his way into the NHL.

I'm honestly really excited about Plante as a prospect

I mean Askarov was taken higher than Cossa the draft before Cossa and he has played 16 total NHL games in his career and is still slated to share the crease with Nedeljkovic this season. Askarov is probably one of the best goalie prospects in a long time, so we gotta have some patience.

I've been loosely following that story, awful look for the Stars. That and private equity is buying up rinks across the US at least, the en****ification of everything continues.

I wouldn't mind ASP starting in Grand Rapids just for some time to get used to physicality but offensively I think he's a NHL player right now. Encouraging..... I'd be fine waiving Berggren potentially Soderblom. Holl got waived last year so I can see it happening again, also Todd hasn't sounded too thrilled with Gustafsson from what I've heard.

I think Finnie is making the team, he's looking good again tonight from what I can see. Good forechecking, making things happen for other players.

I'm not shocked, now I'm even more mad. His game just screams NHL player. Hopefully it isn't anything serious....

I would be shocked if Compher didn't make the team but he has been skating more with players who seem to be on the bubble so who knows.

I'm gonna be sick! Saw someone say that Dumba crosschecked him? I didn't see any of the game.

Largely the B-team with Danielson, Bear and Wallinder sprinkled in (edit: whoops I missed Finnie's name!). Gibson making his first start for Detroit. I thought Truscott had some moments looking good last game, it did help that not only did he play with Seider but the coaches kinda deployed them in an offensive role with their zone starts. It'll be interesting if they try to lessen some of Seider's shut down role in the regular season.

I can't blame people for being bitter towards the Wings, but the prospects have been looking good so I am personally choosing to focus on that! It has been fun seeing them mixed in with our NHL roster, and overall doing pretty well.

Apparently with Danielson on the ice against Bedard, the shots were 7-0 in favor for the Wings. ASP had the most time on ice of any player and Bear led the forwards. I thought MBN looked really good from the parts I saw. This was great.
