  1. It looks like Max Bultman went to the tournament because he wrote an article on how good Anton looked at the WJ Showcase with some quotes from his coaches. It sounds like he was solid on both ends of the ice. Right handed defenseman running their top power play unit. Getting even a strong depth defender in the fourth round would be a huge coup for Yzerman.
  2. IIf he could provide dynamic offense at the NHL level it would be a huge addition. It remains to be seen against pros, but he turned that poor kid inside out with a very nice change of direction, and he had great placement on that shot after kicking it up to his stick.
  3. This looks exactly like what they were doing in Sweden! Must be a thing for the region
  4. Ya this X stuff might finally drive me away lol
  5. Elite Prospects probably has the most complete list but i think they're missing people https://www.eliteprospects.com/team/60/detroit-red-wings/in-the-system
  6. I tend to forget about this kid but it seems like he's developing alright.
  7. Ya I think Buffalo is a playoff team this season too
  8. I'm not a huge fan but JFresh's model apparently thinks the Wings snatch a wild card spot with 96 points
  9. Bultman did a mailbag and gave his top 10 prospects with a bonus 11th: 1. Edvinsson 2. Kasper 3. Danielson 4. Mazur 5. Sandin Pellikka 6. Wallinder 7. Cossa 8. Lombardi 9. Soderblom 10. Johansson 11. Augustine Seems pretty good though I might flip Wallinder and ASP based on Wallinder seeming to being on the cusp of solid NA pro play. I haven't seen enough of Danielson or Augustine to get much of a feel, but Danielson makes sense there before we see him in is D+1 season. Lombardi is a wildcard but he seemed to look solid in short AHL time at the end of the season, I'm excited to see what he can do.
  10. Danielson is probably too tall for Wheeler to rate him 😂 Not a huge fan of his lists to be honest.
  11. The hardest of passes. The guy sucks at defense and has legitimately worn out his welcome everywhere. Yzerman already dumped him to the Coyotes after the Lightning drafted him in the first round and he couldn't stop being a ****head in the AHL. The Wings seem to place a good emphasis on leadership and a team mentality I don't see any universe where this makes sense.
  12. Plus minus is a wonky stat too, but outside of Suter and maybe Erne I don't think of any of the departed Wings are very good defensively so they should get a nice boost on that end.
  13. Wings signed Nate Danielson to his entry level deal today. Doing it now instead of after next season allows them to slide his contract two seasons if they wish. He would have been too old next year. I'm am guessing he's headed back to the WHL as he's not eligible for the AHL.
  14. I guess now we just need to trade for Erik Karlsson to placate some people who want to win now 👀
  15. I think he would need a lot of lucky bounces for this to happen. He would have to take just over 300 shots to hit 20 goals if his usual shooting percentage carries over, he probably would need to rework his shot/release pretty heavily to get there I would imagine. He has a worse career shooting percentage than Darren Helm, and that's with Zadina shooting double his usual shooting percentage randomly in 28 games in 2019-20. Usually he shoots about 6% which is....not great.
  16. Lol I suspect many fans share the same sentiment. I am ambivalent towards him moving forward myself.
  17. Zadina got 1 year, $1.1 million from San Jose.
  18. I don't expect them in the playoffs because they're in a tough division, but they should be competing until the end for a wild card spot. I think it is likely the top 4 Atlantic teams stay the same, hopefully the Wings are number 5.
  19. For me the first line is Perron - Larkin - DeBrincat. You can’t have two small wingers on line one, ADB is a better player than Raymond right now. Perron has the skill set to dig pucks out and dish it. Perron also can score off one timers, so you can’t give him too much space so hopefully they won’t swarm ADB.
  20. Great work by Yzerman, love every part of this. I’m guessing DeBrincat wouldn’t sign any longer without it being $8 million+ and I’m fine with this resolution. Outside of the first round pick, the Wings probably didn’t give up anything they had real future plans for. I’m excited to see our roster in action next season.
  21. I am pretty sure Elon had to institute that cap on how many tweets you could read because I was refreshing twitter 24 hours straight for ADB news.
  22. I think the Wings will be much improved next season. Adding Compher, Kostin, Sprong and Fischer while losing Zadina, Erne, Suter and guys like Chiasson/Czarnik/Sundqvist who were there part time is a big net win in my eyes. Replacing Oesterle and Hagg with Holl and Gostisbehere is another improvement overall in my eyes, even with them not being perfect players. I have to imagine the corpse of Remier and Lyon can stitch together something similar or better to last season's backup goaltending, hopefully while giving Husso more breaks. Most of the roster will have played in Lalonde's system for a year and feel more familiar. Compher adds depth and PKing. Kostin is big and had the second most fights last season I think. He looked good last playoffs too i thought. Sprong is great depth scoring, will hopefully help the power play. Fischer is hard to play against, hopefully will help in situations like against Ottawa last season where the Wings got pushed around. I can see what Yzerman is going for, and I think the Wings will definitely be a threat for the playoffs.
  23. Between the CTE and the drugs he's headed for an interesting retirement with how much he loves the spotlight
