  1. I 100% am way more hyped than I should be lol
  2. He played on the fourth line for SKA's big club! Looks like they're giving him another preseason game today, though he only played 13 minutes this last game.
  3. I think this was always the thinking they had, it is all about projecting where he can end up with his size, athleticism, and work ethic. It is risky but if he develops that would be awesome.
  4. I didn't watch a ton but from my limited viewings I would swap Sebrango and Wallinder in their groups, and swap Niederbach and Edvinsson in their groups. But just my feeling on the prospects for sure. I thought Sebrango was solid but it was about what I expected from what I saw. I thought Wallinder played pretty well for a mess of a team, even with his flaws I thought he showed enough good to be mildly excited. I'll be shocked if Niderbach ever plays in the NHL for more than a handful of games. I see Wheeler's write up on Cossa calls out his goal given up over his shoulder, never mentions that it deflected off his defenseman's stick and wasn't aimed there originally. It sucks he wasn't the guy for Canada but the kid is a project I'm fine giving him time.
  5. His skating looked a bit weird to me in the little I saw, I thought he was injured outside of the food poisoning or whatever. I was guessing some sort of groin issue. I also wasn't very impressed with Sweden's coaching staff or forward group really. Edvinsson wasn't getting any special teams play I believe, which seems odd. He kept trying to force Andrae on the power play and it just....never worked. Just go look at their 5 on 3 against Finland, what a joke! It obviously isn't a "plus" but I'm not too worried about him not being super invested while sick/injured at a random rescheduled summer WJC where some top prospects didn't go and where his coach seemed in over his head. If anything this tournament kinda makes me think Niederbach is a zero as a prospect... Fun little assist from Wallinder:
  6. Love our European scouts' work the last few drafts.
  7. Disappointing for the team but it seems like Mazur and Savage played well
  8. Oh great news on Simon! I was mildly worried because I found no info on it yesterday. Food poisoning it sounds like? Looks like he's healed 😂
  9. Edvinsson out with some sort of injury
  10. Bednar got pulled against Latvia, oof
  11. Love all the prospect footage about right now
  12. Looks like Downer Nilsson played wing on Frolunda's top line this morning, Kasper has been Rogle's 2C. Johannson is back with his SHL club which is great to see. I'm hearing Viro has been virtually invisible at the WJC, guess it is good that he isn't making huge mistakes but I expected him to be a bit of a force this tourny.
  13. I've read that he's played well but gets a little lost moving around on his goals, I think they lost in a shootout today. I really don't see a ton of footage on Bednar sadly, just comments here and there. It seems like he's had some decent development in the Q and internationally so it'll be interesting to see if he can take any more steps and force his way into the Wings' plans at all.
  14. I originally wanted Wallstedt based on scouting reports but I had never seen either play so who knows. Their goal tending prospects were pretty much non-existent so I was okay with taking a goalie high, just have to pray the development works out. I think I read Cossa is still growing too so still getting used to that gangly body.
  15. Eh I'm not sure he even saw the shot before it was basically by him, the closer defender honestly looked like he was timing his movement in front of Cossa to do the most damage. Though watching it back I am more inclined to agree with you. Then the first goal Latvia scored against him was a gnarly deflection off his defender's stick, naturally the hfboards named him a bust because of it lol. It is weird to me how hot some fans are to declare him a terrible pick. Apparently Wallstedt let in some bad goals yesterday too, goalies just take time. I hesitate to even post stuff about Cossa though it'll be interesting to see how his next season(s) go.
  16. Scored this one on Cossa, his defense did their best to give him moving screens at multiple levels. Canada's defense has been awful apparently.
  17. Nice shot block for an assist: Sebrango is playing on Canada's top D pairing
  18. Looks like they at least aren't participating in the delayed games coming up here.
  19. Our newest Russian pick with a goal, he's playing for their U25 National Team in something called the Sochi Hockey Open
  20. Bobby tweeted this morning about it and his mindset seems very positive for the relapse. He seems like a good guy, I hope he finds the strength to keep moving forward on his recovery journey.
  21. It sucks this dude got hurt but this is a big opportunity for a couple Wings' prospects:
  22. Apparently the rumor is that the Sabres (who picked directly behind the Wings) wanted Kasper badly and tried to trade, it is being reported out of Austria (Kasper's home country) that they tried to trade for Kasper but the Wings wanted to keep him. https://themalikreport.com/2022/07/26/roughly-translated-the-buffalo-sabres-wanted-marco-kasper-at-9th-overall-but-detroit-got-their-man-with-pick-8/
  23. I had zero idea, yikes!
  24. I'm all for it! It is going to be nice to watch a NHL roster.
