  1. I don't know why but I expect the Wings to be quiet at the deadline. Looking like a real nice pick after some quiet nepotism claims tied to Draper. Maybe he knows what he's doing?
  2. Tuned in to see the last 10 minutes or so of the game, looked like a penalty kill for the Wings the whole time! Glad they hung on.
  3. Leddy is apparently sitting tonight to keep him healthy for a potential trade
  4. https://www.nhl.com/redwings/news/cross-hanas-signs-entry-level-contract/c-331726274
  5. Wings also scored a called off goal, Suter tipped a puck like four feet above the crossbar it was pretty funny
  6. Absolute domination by the Oilers so far
  7. Called up Hirose after the awful Fabbri news. I guess they want Berggren to play big minutes in the AHL?
  8. I never realized how much I liked Matt Dumba before this game. Seemed like he kept doing the whole ignore the player going at him while the play is going then talk trash when the linesmen are between everyone after the play. Which I don't fault him but it is also annoying after what he did to Raymond.
  9. First period Wings goals: https://hlslive-wsczoominwestus.med.nhl.com/editor/4f749a9c-abfc-4bc1-93be-a23d6576b432.mp4 https://streamable.com/mpy9ov https://hlslive-wsczoominwestus.med.nhl.com/editor/4179a083-833f-4fb3-8e1b-94aa5c719c16.mp4
  10. Leddy with another assist on that second Vrana power play goal (secondary, Hronek made a very nice no look pass to set it up).... pump that trade value!!!
  11. Ned got an assist on the Raymond goal so he should have two points...
  12. Raymond ties it up! Leddy with a nice play there too.
  13. Welp Ned just put the puck into his own net, that can't be good for the confidence that was probably shaky already. One of the worst plays I've seen a goalie make, the puck was going wide and he basically swatted it into his own net.
  14. I feel like every one of these predictions will probably be wrong but: Lindstrom 100%, 3rd pairing upside - think he's about there now, won't wow you but has a decent first pass out of the zone and can get shots on net from the point Sebrango 40%, 3rd pairing upside - has turned some heads playing in the AHL earlier than anticipated and looked good at the WJC where he didn't seem out of place on either end of the ice. His pedigree before this and his lack of offensive upside is why I land here. If he keeps making steps at the same speed he has his percentage to make the NHL will shoot way up of course. I just have no idea what his ceiling is Johannson 55%, 2nd pairing upside - I think he has all the physical tools to be a solid second pairing guy and he can really pop on tape. It seems like his IQ maybe wasn't up to speed against men yet and is having a good season. It is still tough to jump to the NHL even after having solid SHL seasons. McIssac 50%, 3rd pairing upside - I could see McIssac not doing much more than a coffee cup in nhl guy because of his injuries/development. I hear he has really strong stretches in the AHL so I would say it is a coin flip if he puts it all together to be a NHL regular Buium 40%, 1st pairing upside - started playing defense late, seems like a plus plus athlete with all the tools. Just made the All Rookie team on a stacked Denver team (along with Mazur). Does he keep going in his progression or does he hit a wall? I think he could land almost anywhere in the end Tuomisto 10%, 3rd pairing upside - You never hear anything about him anymore, it sounds like his skating still is rough. He's apparently solid in college in his own end but that's likely size against lesser skilled players. Was a bit of a reach at the time based around projection and I don't think he's progressed a ton Wallinder 50%, 2nd pairing upside - He's a lot like Johannson to me but with probably better skills but bigger question marks. Supposed to be a big project but he's really had a good season this year from what I've read. He's taller than Johannson as well i believe, but I don't think he is a bruiser at all Viro 30%, 3rd pairing upside - Haven't seen him play a lot but he was the captain at WJC and supposedly is solid in all zones. Doesn't sound like he's going to turn into a super star but he could be smart enough to play a low event role in the NHL if all things go right Alex Cotton I think was an overager pick. He didn't pop when I saw him in Traverse but I don't think he had played in a while. Supposed to be an adventure in his own zone. Ceiling is probably AHL. I honestly feel like I might be too optimistic with the above because it is tough to be a NHL player but who knows.
  15. Wings gave up the first goal but sheesh I love Vrana, he makes a nice play in the corner to then walk out and snipe home the tying goal.
  16. I don't know if I have a 1 for 1 option besides Chychrun but I also don't want him because I think he'll cost more than he's worth. I see your reasoning for sure, it wouldn't be a bad thing to add him to the team. But I think that they'd need to give up a lot to acquire him, more so than the value he would bring to the Wings. If he were more stout in the defensive zone and had a more consistent offensive output across his career I would be more excited to give up the assets to get him. Just looking over potential free agents I don't see anyone realistic to get excited about (but I also looked really quickly). I guess Klingberg is the alternative on the trade market as far as who seems available? Unless Chychrun is cheap for some reason I think I would just wait and see what emerges from Edvinsson, Sebrango, and McIssac. Grab some depth in free agency if you can for a year or two. Also I would imagine more trade options would open up in the offseason so who knows what you can do there. Wallinder and Johannson are probably a few seasons away. You hope that one of those two and like Viro turn into something nice from their farm system. Buium and Wallinder are the wildcards on defense, if they hit it would be huge for the team.
  17. It is a team effort in the Red Wings section! Good luck with SEC stuff
  18. No idea where Bert is, HSJ says maybe his baby is being born?
  19. Practice Lines: Namestnikov-Larkin-Raymond Vrana-Veleno-Zadina Fabbri-Suter-Gagner Erne-Rasmussen-Smith Leddy-Seider Staal-Hronek Juolevi-Stecher Oesterle/DeKeyser-Lindstrom
  20. DDK cleared waivers of course, I think Detroit put him on IR. Seems kind of weird to put him on waivers before (maybe it was to see if he could get on a team to play him and he's just on IR with hurt feelings?)
  21. Ned has looked rough but he also played really well for a stretch there so I'm not writing him off yet. This whole team is just a mess right now so it is hard to be excited about much outside of seider/raymond/larkin/bert. And I've noticed some mistakes from that group too recently. Bad hockey is infectious... Something needs to snap them out of it or the rest of the season is going to be insanely brutal to watch. I know we aren't expecting much but damn.
  22. I figured it wouldn't happen but I was genuinely curious if Blashill would get fired this morning. Two days rest, at home against one of the worst teams in the league who lose their top scorer at the beginning of the game. Awful.
  23. Ya Blash has the line blender going like crazy right now. 3-1 Coyotes I think I'm turning this one off
