  2. If there is one thing in this world that needs to be perpetual, it's Twitter!
  3. Spooky, but that makes it extra cool.
  4. I agree....I associate players with my fantasy team moreso than with MLB teams. This will continue as long as more $$ is associated with more player movement.
  5. You werent around in 1991? That was a great OL.
  6. thanks I will
  7. We drove around downtown and went to dinner -- we were there until 8:30pm. No rain, and no wet pavement or standing water. It was dry all the way. I don't know if might have rained after we left, but we went up to Farmington Hills and it while it had rained up there before 7pm, it didn' rain when we headed back there. Very frustrating....anybody want my tickets and parking pass for July 4th. They are pretty good seats behind the 1st base dugout about 25 rows up, and the parking pass is for the D-Garage next to the park.
  8. I have a voucher that they will honor for the makeup game.
  9. We were downtown from 6:50 to 8:30 and no, it didnt rain there. They could easily have squeezed the game in. Now I have tickets for the 4th of July when Im hosting a party. Fabulous.
  10. sucks....we bought tickets tonite.
  11. Jake?
  12. yeah
  13. Right. I wasn't trying to be predictive about 100 losses being excessive. It's just that this team, as constructed, was a 500 team not a 350 or even a 400 team. But yeah, if the injuries keep going this way, 100 losses is looking more and more likely.
  14. I get the impatience with Baez and the team..... It's the whole "they didnt tell us it was a 100 loss team!" thing that I object to. The only way this is going to be a 100 loss team, or even at a 90 loss rate for the balance of the season, is due to bad luck/injuries. That having been said, the hope for a winning season, much less the playoffs, is fading quickly.
  15. It's absolutely amazing to me that a whole bunch of people seem to think that slumps are not possible anymore.
  16. Bingo
  17. So tanking for 4+ years doesn't automatically make you a championship team? Huh Oh wait....nobody actually ever argued what you said above.
  18. Some people around here have consistently claimed that we better off without him.
  19. Amen. This team is his Opus Magnum after 5 years of tanking, and they are going to have to be awesome to reach 500 for the year. Avila had his best offseason and hes still a joke.
  20. Baez is switching from NL to AL....I don't know if this still holds, but that used to cause a pretty significant drop in production in the 1st year. Happened to Miggy in 2008 as well. I'm not worried.
  21. I don't know what ERod's injury might be, but.... ...his velo has been down a little, his Change hasn't been as effective, he's getting a lot fewer swings/misses, and a lot less LOB, but he's actually doing OK overall. Unless there's some injury, the so-so results so far could just be early-season blahs, especially with no spring training. Let's hope there's no injury. When healthy, he was one of the top 20-25 starting pitchers in the MLB in 2019-2021. Side-note, his BABIP on grounders was high in 2019 and 2021, despite the overall success, probably because every IF position on BOS was in the bottom 10 in both 2019 and 2021. That more than anything seemed to contribute to his ERA being significantly higher than his FIP and xFIP.
  22. 4 in a row, haters
  23. We dont lack patience....this team since 2000 has the 4th worst record in MLB. Thats WITH the DD era of mostly winning from 2006-2014. The ownership.has only excelled here since the 90s if they hire the right GM (DD) and give him the resources. They have to do better than requiring a top 5 payroll, but they so need superior GM talent and ownership commitment, and thats sorely lacking under Chris I.
  24. ....and to be frank, even if AA goes, with Chris I doing the hiring, I am not confident at all that he would find the right replacement, especially given Chris' apparent low-risk approach to profit-making, which IMO requires a superior GM talent with superior support and org staff/resources.
