The difference in BABIP isnt a fluke or luck in the case of these two. Greene hits a lot of groundballs (52 pct) and has a nice .270 BABIP on GB, and Tork hits a good number of flyballs (40 pct, which is appropriate for a power hitter of course).
The problem with Tork is that on his fly balls he only hits 6% of them for homers. He has a pretty decent barrel rate but simply doesnt hit his flyballs far enough.
Torks failure on HR/FB is a little baffling because he has a good EV (90), pulls the ball (40 pct) and uses LA (15).
My wild *guess* is that he just needs some tweaks to more consistently get under the ball/pull the ball in just the right way against the pitches he likes to hit for FBs.
ugh, you're probably right. I think all of our Lionesque modes of bad luck should merge spectacularly.
Goff will have a career ending injury from a ref throwing a flag into his eyeball, after Goff is called for a personal foul for pumping his fist on what would have been a game-winning TD pass.
The league excuses the incident because the ref honestly thought that Goff was taunting his mother.
That sounds about right.
Yes, if they were the Falcons from the early nineties they would give up lots of yards, but they would gamble a lot and get TOs. They cant seem to do **anything** these last two weeks.
Having 24 whatever the hell his name is out there getting burned every down for two weeks is not the problem per se, but its a symbol of how bad the personnel and scheme are defensively at this point.
They have schemed a ***beautiful*** offense this year, everything is clicking and we are racking up points....Its a thing of wonder!
....but we still look like a 5 win team.
Cant believe that we are going to waste this tremendous opportunity to have a good or even better season because our nonexistent D cant ever make a play or stop anybody.
Preach. I cannot remember the D ever being this bad for any Lions team. Its just beyond belief. I can understand having some issues but letting Smith and Penny rack up 50/500 at your house is the worst thing I have ever seen from any defense I was rooting for. Even Georgia didnt pound Michigan's D this badly.
Goff is not the problem at all. Goff has been highly efficient and productive.
Gotta have a D that can keep crappy teams under 50 points in our building.
Goff might have the greatest season for a Lions QB in the modern era, AND we might have a great running attack, AND we might still wind up with fewer than 6 wins.
Fuck Aaron Glenn and Dan Campbell and Brad Holmes for this.
