They can still keep track of the wins and losses and stats over the 162 games of both halves combined.

Now that they have close to a balanced schedule, they should eliminate divisions and just take the top six (or how ever many teams they feel is necessary).

But if there are two sets of playoffs, then it doesn't really matter what happens to a team in the second half. They can win their first half championship and fans can feel good about it. There doesn't need to be a set up where we glorify one champion whether it be the third wild card team or an 85-game divison winner. Some years, a team wins two championships in one year, and that will be special like winning the Triple Crown in horse racing or multiple majors in golf.

Unlike other sports, underdogs winning is not really a story in baseball because it happens so often. It all feels random to me which I don't find entertaining. I think the only solution is having fewer teams in the playoffs, so that only geat teams make it most years. That's not going to happen. In fact, I am pretty sure there will be more teams soon.

I could support that. I prefer the long season and don't need them to have any tournaments, but I know most fans like tournaments. playing 162 games just to start all over again with a bunch of short series just seems insane to me though.

I liked it better the old way, but it's not coming back. I do not have a problem with the post-season being separate and distinct from the regular season. The problem is I don't think they are regarded separately. The post-season tournament is regarded as far more important with the winner determining the league champion and the regular season virtually being ignored as far as team accomplishments. I would like the teams with the best records in the regular season to be rewarded more for the regular season records than the post-season tournament. I do understand that the post-season would make no money if it was regarded as a footnote to the regular season, but I don't have to like it. On the other hand, regular season individual accomplishments get more recognition than post-season accomplishments. It's a strange disconnect. That part makes me happy, because I am probably more interested in individual than team accomplishments.

I don't think playing the lower seeded team is a big enough advantage in baseball.

It will go to 16 teams,but there needs to be some incentive in winning the division. Maybe, they'll have more home games for the division winners. I don't really care anymore. I enjoy the regular season more and haven't even watched the playoffs yet this year.

So, try not to be too good during the season! It's OK though because because pretty soon there will be 16 teams in the playoffs.

I don't get why people think Trump would want to be Speaker of the House. How does that help him? He is not interested in helping Republicans. He is only interested in himself and I don't believe being Speaker would help him advance his status or wealth. I guess I could see him doing it for a few weeks just to stir up trouble and keep himself in the news, but he'd get bored really quick.

Totally Tigers and Heyman are not the most reliable combo! However, I have seen elsewhere (I believe Morosi) thst the Tigers have checked in on Yamamoto.

Bad umpire calls are annoying when they happen, but I always get over them pretty quickly. They have a tough job with no glory, only blame. I'd rather blame players or really just circumstances. Or even better, blame the manager or GM. Just like in real life!

The play I most remember from that game was Polanco not making the play in extra innings. It was a double play ball that would have ended the game. The announcer raised his voice in anticipation of the game ending play. The only question was whether it would be a DP or just a forceout. Then he didn't make the play at all. It wasn't an error, but is was a play he makes all the time. The Inge play was big too, but it impacted me less because the way the game was going, they probably would have blown it in the bottom of the inning anyway.

My view on politicians is we don't agree with THEM. They pretend to agree with US, so they can get votes. That is true of both Republicans and Democrats.
