It is funny that Harris and Trump both are promising to end taxes on tips. I also love that Trump is upset that she "copied his idea". 😀 It's not going to be passed anyway and both of them know it.

I was more conservative in my 20s. Once I started working in social services research I became more aware of the importance of social services and noticed that some services for people in need would get big cuts when Republicans were in power. I didn't think this was at all offset by the sometimes slightly lower (almost unnoticeable) tax rates under Republicans. Republicans were supposedly for lower spending and lowering the national debt but the debt kept soaring regardless of the party in power. Retirement investments were supposed to do better under Republicans, but they didn't. I initially bought into trickledown economics, but that didn't work either. So, I came to the conclusion that Republicans were only helping the wealthy and guaranteeing that everybody had a right to carry deadly weapons. So, I have became more and more liberal over the years.

I asked the question of MTB because we are electing a President for that time period and MTB appeared to be mocking the selection of Harris over Biden.

But would he still be good in 2025-2028?

Yeah, That is probably the best chance of beating him - that people are just tired of him. It is possible that some people who voted for him last time have lost interest even if they don't see through him. So many vote on emotion.

My experience is different. Practically all young people and women I know think he is a joke. Massachusetts is definitely not a swing state though, so we can't help you.

I don't think he is gaining anyone with his schtick. I also don't think people are just now discovering than he's a con and will switch because of it. My hope is that there will be a bigger turnout this year, because I think previous non voters are more likely to vote for Harris. I am somewhat optimistic that this is the case because I believe people wanted someone new and she is certainly a big contrast to Biden and Trump.

I don't know if it was 95%, but I think it was at least half. There is no way highly competitive athletes are going watch the big guys take performancing enhancing drugs without punishment and then innocently stay clean.

I don't know. He has been spreading the same BS for over 40 years and people didn't catch on. I am not confident they are catching on now. Harris has a lot of momentum, but that could change quickly.

Not so good the last three weeks though. .638 OPS in his last 20 games. He was terrible in April, great in May, bad in June, great in July, bad in August so far. So, it hasn't been a linear improvement. And that is fine, but I think it's fair to put him in the under 100 OPS+ group with everyone else.

I agree with that. It's all very subjective and influenced by draft position. At least most of the Tigers on the current list are actually performing well. The only exception is Rainer who hasn't even played yet.

When I used to go to a lot of minor league games, I definitely noticed that the difference betwen fielding in the majors and was minors was very noticeable. Everybody knows about the difference in pitching and hitting but I think the fielding differential is just as big.

I don't know. Did they ever ever have five in the top 100 at the same time? I know it doesn't really matter since it's subjective and since some top propects disappear from the list when the get time in the Majors.

That is great info. I am surprised he was so open about it. Some teams are so protective of their data that they will not tell you anything at all that might tip off what kind of info they have.

I have a friend who is an awesome 50+ year old runner and she also completly ruptured her hamstring. It's a really difficult injury from which to return. I think it took a a couple months after surgery of being almost totally immobile and almost a year of rehab. She made it back to her pre-injury level which is amazing at her age.
