  1. There are very limited cases where a hitter should be moving a runner over with a bunt. In general, I don't like giving up outs. I like if a hitter can bunt for a hit if he's good at it (which most of them aren't).
  2. No hitter should "rely" on bunting but an occasional bunt hit that catches the opponent by surprise is a good thing.
  3. Right, a batter's job is to help his team score runs. If bunting helps his team score runs, then he has done his job. Helping his opponent achieve goals should not be on his mind at all.
  4. After his no hitter, he talked about he has never seen fans that lifted him as much as the Phillie fans. I wonder how he feels about them now that's not pitching well. I'm sure it was BS anyway.
  5. I don't know. He likes pitching for the Tigers, but the Phillies have better fans.
  6. The great American obsesession - "buying stuff that we don't need with money we don't have"
  7. Imagine thinking it's a good idea to discuss strategy with Marjorie Taylor Greene.
  8. Why are you surprised? He's gotten away with everything his whole life. Wealthy people can do anything they want.
  9. When draft dodging p**** Trump disrespected McCain's service by saying he was not a hero, I was sure that was it for him. What a disgrace.
  10. Base on my observation (which isn't enough) minor league defense is bad. The difference between MLB and MILB fielding looks as big as the difference between MLB and MILB hitting.
  11. I don't have to tell you what would happen in that scenario. Trump would not dop out of the race, but would still expect a pardon and spend the next four years calling Biden (who stole two elections) a liar for not pardoning him.
  12. yup, he is still very much loved by the majority of Republicans and those that don't love him constantly make excuses for him. He is dominating all the primary polls, not just those paid for by Republicans.
  13. I figured that he wouldn't play again this year anyway. I just hope he's 100% for spring training.
  14. The softball team approach worked under Dombrowski, but having Miguel Cabrera plus elite starting pitchers solves a lot of problems. They aren't likely to get away with no bullpen and no defense on a tighter budget
  15. But Tork and Carpenter are their best hitters (other than Greene who can't stay healthy), so if they don't fit long term, it better be one hell of a plan.
  16. I was kind of being flippant, but I'd like to see him make his mark. Don't make a trade just to make a trade, but do something creative. Show me you're the genius everyone says you are. I want to see that Steve Kemp for Chet Lemon moment!
  17. All of that is very plausible. It's also possible that Harris didn't play it right and missed an opportunity. We'll never know.
  18. It's time for Harris to make some real decisions, take some risks.
  19. Wells now sounds like every other old dude that calls the younger generation too soft because he is jealous of their youth. He was a great pitcher, but I never really cared for his rags to riches millionaire rebel routine.
  20. It was a relative strength this year with Rodriguez and Lorenzen. Mize is coming back, so he can replace one of them. A full year of Skubal would help a lot too. I just don't trust Skubal/Mize/Manning to stay healthy.. I think it will be a disaster if they don't add at least one more starter.
  21. I am open to anything, but it's hard to believe there wasn't multiple contending teams interested in a left-handed starter of his caliber.
