People won't decide to switch their vote to Trump, but they might decide not to vote. 2020 was the biggest voter turn out ever. That is not necessarily going to happen again.

Even without an economic downturn, I don't understand why people here are so confident Trump can not win. He won in 2016 when he "couldn't win" and I think he would have won in 2020 if not for Covid. 2020 was not exactly a landslide. We were waiting for days to get the final result. If Trump can't win, why is he about even or even better in all the polls? I am not saying I think he will win. It's the assertion that he can not win that I don't get.

He can win the election if the economy goes into the tank. The polls do not suggest that Biden will easily beat Trump.

JD was arguably the second best Tigers hitter of my lifetime after Cabrera (I missed Kaline's prime). I would rather he had stayed the last two months than be traded for garbage. Candelario is pretty good, but he's not JD.

If their intention was to to save money, then I can't really argue with that. That's not my problem as a fan tnough. I'd prefer the higher budget.

What a depressing poll. Not surprising though. Most of my Republican friends (even those that dislike Trump) don't think he did anything terribly wrong. They only thing that really concerns them is what he did to Pence.

I see a lot of tweeters talking about the Tigers trying to get Alek Thomas. It originated from a sports radio host in AZ with a lot of followers. It doesn't seem likely though.

You are not alone. When it's all done, I will look back at him as one of the all time great Tigers but year after year of replacement level perfomance at the end end of his career while fans and media pretend that he still has something left got tiring a long time ago.

I am thinking there is a decent chance they get Rodriguez to stay in exchange for a better contract. Maybe an extra year or two. I'd prefer that to the likely return in a trade.
