  1. I loved when Nashua had a AA team (first the Angels and then the Pirates) and I went frequently. So, I wouldn't be surprised if we were at one of the same games. Those were some of my best ballpark experieces ever. It was before minor league games were popular, so the crowds were not large and it was all baseball. A minor league game was not a circus with non-stop music and sounds and all the silliness between innings. Some of that stuff is fun but they over do it.
  2. My favorite is Ed Irwin, but I'll let Boom tell the story.
  3. Good stuff, no command. Could be a reliever some day. Got to have a couple of them.
  4. If you don't like Carson Rucker, you don't like ice cream.
  5. I don't like the idea that we aren't supposed to criticize anything that teams do because they know more than us. However, I think the gap in knowledge is much larger when it comes to amateur players. All most of us have to go off of is second hand scouting reports and an few video clips. Once players have been around for a while, I think the gap narrows somewhat.
  6. I knew a kid named Titsworth in school. As you can imagine that kid never heard the end of it. "Hey Jim, How much are you tits worth?"
  7. They have spiced it up a lot over the years. You can only do so much with the baseball draft though because it takes so long for even the best ones to make the majors. It will never have the immediate impact of the NFL, NBA drafts.
  8. Yes, I saw a long clip of him interacting with fans, teammates and coaches and they all seemed to get along.
  9. I was expecting and hoping for Langford, but I really don't know enough about these guys to complain. I wanted a position player who has big offensive potential and Max Clark is that even if he is far away. Scouting report: Looks like a douche with the exaggerated eye black but has a great baseball name!
  10. I am happy the Tigers are getting a hitter. Either Langford or Crews is fine with me.
  11. Marisnick designated for assignment. Wingenter activated. They will need to drop a pitcher and then probably add an infielder Edit: Oops, they optioned Wingenter to Toledo
  12. yeah, I thought it was a good weekend. Those are the four most important players on the roster in terms of their future.
  13. Kyle Teel (just for the Twitter reaction)!
  14. yeah, It would have been insane to let him go any longer. Here is a young pitcher working his way back after an injury and they wanted to see him stay in there to throw 120 pitches so he could get a no hitter?
  15. Despite his flaws as an analyst, he has always come across as an honest and friendly person. I have heard that he is genuinely that way, so yes it would be really difficult to fire him. Hell, if fans can put up with Todd Jones and Craig Monroe, they can deal with a fading Price for a few monrhs.
  16. The combined no hitter was cool, but the best thing is that their two arguably most important future pieces came through nicely after recent injuries.
  17. He's never been in a Diary Queen or a Burger King or any place like that except for campaigning. When he wants fast food, somebody gets it for him. The regular guy thing is all BS, but everyone falls for it.
  18. The 1968 Tigers had remarkable positional versatility and they won the World Series. They had something the 2023 Tigers didn't have though.
  19. It's a great place to watch a game once. It's like going back in time to another era. It is a terrible place to watch games if you go regularly.
