    While I disliked both the Leflore and Thompson trades at the time, I definitely miss thoses types of deals. Now, it seems like every trade is some wealthy team trading it's non-favoriote prospects for an expensive veteran.

    And sometimes what the team wants from a trade does not align perfectly with what fans want.

    I don't know if I'd say "rarely", but it does seem like the team trading prospects loses more often than not. I think it's because they are often dealing from a position of weakness where they must trade a player who is too expensive for them to sign and the longer they keep him the less value he has,

    Something has happened in recent years, but I'm not sure what. It used to play like an average park with respect to home runs despite complaints to the contrary. In the last five years or so, it has become more extreme.

    When you're Tim Moore, you probably have a difficult time getting any, so the value goes up.

    I remember Maybin and Miller as both being pretty big deals. I may be wrong, but I remember Miller as clearly being a better prospect than Maybin.

    I see MAGAs complaining about Juneteenth on Twitter. You should never complain about a day off. Enjoy it! I said that the same thing when the left complained about Columbus day.

    Thst makes sense because the center fielder has to lead off. You can't have the first baseman bat second though. He bats cleanup. The second spot is for a gritty second baseman who doesn't hit much, but has good bunting skills.

    Independent league ball is fun - very low key, but some decent talent in some leagues. There was a team up in Nashua, NH many years back which would sometimes get former big leaguers for a period of time and I got to see the Cansecos hot dogging it at Holman Stadium. Another time, Rickey Henderson was supposed to play and the place was unusually packed. Unfortunately, he was a no show.

    I think he's for real, but I don't expect him to get better and he can't field. I think he'll be a good platoon DH, extra outfielder.

    I've heard people say for years that Musk is a genius. He sounds like a moron on twitter. I mean the guy isn't even clever or funny. Nothing original at all.

    I don't think we know that yet for sure. He had some success in San Francisco with pitchers. He has made some promising trades with the Tigers, but I grade them as incomplete at this point.

    If Harris is going to turn this organization around, then that's the kind of thing he needs to be able to do creative things like that. I think you and Echo might disagree on who is a fringe prospect though!.
