  1. Hawk was a ridiculous homer, but he was actually a pretty smart baseball man. I actually found him humorous after a while and he wasn't that bad compared a lot other broadcasters (like ones we've seen with the Tigers over the years).
  2. I met his son wheat thrower (a play on his nickname here) at Fenway. I have not met Sportz.
  3. because he's a patriot and a Christian and he works hard for all Americans.
  4. The amazing thing is they have a lot of LOB while getting on base less than almost every team.
  5. Do those people know or care that Cabrera is still on the team? I think they just go there to be at a cool place and to drink beer
  6. They are marketing him as if they do and some probably do, but I agree most fans don't want to watch him bat anymore. It is mostly something they are doing out of respect to him.
  7. I will never understand people. Why do they want to pay big money to watch Cabrera tarnish his career?
  8. I hate **** like that, but it is relatively unobtrusve. The Nike Swoosh sucks.
  9. I am not a political maven like most people here. I don't follow everything Warren does and says, so I am not surprised that I missed it. LOL, NH hiking enthusiasts would not be surprised that massholes wanted to set up abortion tents in national forests.
  10. He is taking up a spot that could be used for someone who might not be playing any more than Cabrera, but had the felxibility to play different roles and contribute something useful.
  11. Abortion clinics in national forests? I never heard of that and it sounds like a terrible idea. When I go to a national forest, I want to be in a forest. I don't want it to be some kind of political experience. I go to the forest to get away from that ****.
  12. Maybe they regret it. Maybe they don't. They probably want different things than you want and maybe they thought Clinton would get them there. Not everything is D versus R.
  13. You can't tell people who to vote for. Maybe they didn't like your candidate, so they voted someone else. Maybe they thought Clinton was a terrible candidate and didn't want to support her.
  14. I hope the Tigers are going to be the type of organization that will be willing to pay for players that are good every year.
  15. The wildcard round is best of three. The Tigers would probably have about a 45% chance to win that series. It's pretty much a crap shoot. I do agree they are not good and probably won't make the playoffs. If they did make the playoffs with, let's say, a 80-82 record and proceeded to win the World Series, it would be entertaining but it would be a hollow championship. There would be no comparison to 1984 or 1968. I'd rather see them be a good team for 162 games and lose the World Series than win that way. I don't want to see them trading young players for a one-year run at the playoffs and I don't see anyone suggesting that. They are in a weak division though, so they don't need to go on another five-year plan. I would not mind if they traded young prospects for young about to get expensive young players in the majors with some cheap team that doesn't want to pay them. Another possibility, If Rodriguez is still strong in late July would be to extend enough to get him to not opt out.
  16. Ruth had a 119 OPS+ with the Browns which very bad for him, but more like Greene than Cabrera.
