I have no problem with Hinch as the manager. I just don't get why every time the Tigers go on a winning streak, he is built up to be a genius. The team does well when the the players do well.

Tigers have one of the worst offenses in baseball this year. They are doing better because pitching (specifically Rodriguez) and defense. If Hinch has anything to do with that than great. He didn't seem to have any effect on Rodriguez or the defense the last two years. The bullpen has been consistently good under Hinch, but I think it probably has more to do with Fetter rather than chess moves.

They are using him too. Their relationship is mutually profitable. CNN and all the other networks are going to keep covering everything he does through the 2024 election because the audience wants to see it.

I understand the concern for local residents. I would be concerned if there was a large influx influx of new people into my home town just because of logistics (something I mentioned in my post). However, it's not a bunch of disease infested criminals invading America like many of the MAGA are saying. There will be bad people among every group anywhere, but they are not committing crimes at a higher rate than native born Americans.

I don't believe people crossing the border are more dangerous than anyone else. Studies have shown that immigrants commit crimes at lower rates than native born Americans and that undocumented immigrants have an even lower rate (don't want to be caught and deported!). Logistically, we still need to limit the number of new immigrants each year, but crime isn't the reason. Neither is disease, since immigrants tend to be healthier than Amercians.

Ballmich was a smart guy. I liked reading his takes in the Tigers forum and also in the investing thread. It was disappointing to see him get caught up in the conspiracy theory stuff.

Rape would have been bad, but the MAGAs will have no problem with the sexual abuse and defamation verdicts. Their reasoning will be that sometimes you have to show a woman who is the boss.
