One of my favorite places is Mt Monadnock in New Hampshire where I hike to get away from everything. Just this week, someone posted a photo in a facebook hiking group of someone at the summit aiming an AR-15 with a sophisticated scope. Apparently, you just can't get away from this ****.

I don't think it's being done to manipulate service time. He has pitched poorly this year and it should be mutually beneficial for him to work things out in the minors.

That sounds plausible. It seems odd to me that someone who took the time to visit the Negro Leagues museum and to promote it would be someone who use the N word regularly. Maybe, he comes from a backwards culture though. Way back around 1970, when kids used to get into fights, others would yell "fight fight ****** and a white". I never said it and I knew it was wrong, but it wasn't considered shocking to use the word as a joke at the time. Maybe there are still cultures like that 50 years later. Based on what I've heard over the last several years, overt racism is more common place than I realized.

It's kind of a silly question anyway because the cause of recessions doesn't always fit neatly into a presidency and I don't know how much presidents have to do with recessions anyway. I just saw a stat showing that there have been more Americans killed in day to day gun events since 1968 than have been killed in all the US wars ever. It sounded fake to me, but after looking at it, it seems to be true. About 1.4 million killed in wars, about 1.5 million killed in other events involving guns. There was another Mass shooting in Texas today.

yeah, I don't know how a broadcaster makes that mistake. He is Duane Kuiper's brother and I think he's a professional bradcaster as opposed to an ex-jock. He apologized for it rather than acting like an ignorant person complaining that "Blacks get to use that word, so why not us?".

Rental pitchers sell better at the deadline than hitters. I think they can get something decent.

The season is looking a lot like 2021 with the slow start followed by a lot wins in close games led by a surprsingly strong bullpen and timely hitting. They played over their heads in 2021. This year, they don't seem to be. I don't think they are hitting up to their potential and are still hanging in there. That is a good sign.

Maybin is pretty good, but I prefer him on TV. He doesn't have the right cadence for radio. I would like to see a permanent Dickerson and Petry pairing on radio. On TV, I'd like to see Maybin and a professional broadcaster other than Shep.

Nothing is ever 100%. If there is a great pitcher available and no strong position players around at your pick, then go with the pitcher. However, you can usually get a talented position player with the 3rd pick and that appears to be the case this year.

You have to consider that the poster to whom you are responding most likely would be disappointed to hear that Dump was not interested in him under any circumstances.

Allen's career OPS+ was 156 which is 19th all-time. His career up to age 33 was basically the same as Miguel Cabrera, but all you hear about is how much of a problem he was.

I was neutral on McKinstry when they got him. I didn't think he'd do much, but they didn't give up anything to get him. His first month was good. Vierling, Rogers and McKinstry have been solid additions so far.
