  1. I once tried to explain that to a 2A friend and he responded with some statistic about no kids ever getting killed in fires... Maybe that's because the doors were open!
  2. I see that, but they all look like fringe prospects to me. I know part of Harris' strategy is to collect guys like that and hope that one or two can help. As a group, that's a good thing. Individually, I am not going to get excited about one of them.
  3. If he had produced, his reps would not have been limited and inconsistent. Which came the first the chicken or the egg? He has never been a big prospect. If we are lucky, he's the next Don Kelly.
  4. That's just a bit of an exaggeration. McKinstry has a .269 in the majors so far and that is supposed to be his strength.
  5. Harold Castro is bad. Candelario was good in 2020-2021 and could very well rebound. Maton could be good too, so I'm thinking more about that, but there is a chance we might we might miss Candelario.
  6. That is really surprising given that the Athletics are terrible and Pache was a top prospect as recently as a year ago. Do they have a trade lined up already or is there a personal problem we don't know about?
  7. McKinstry had solid BB/K numbers in the minors. My concern is that both his BB and K rates have been a lot worse in the majors. This suggests that he has been overmatched at the new level. It also could be that he hasn't played regularly enough in the Majors to get in a groove. The question is how does a fringe prospect get regulat at bats if he is not performing? Regardless, I'd rather see a 27-year old player who probably won't be good versus a 32 year old with no upside.
  8. Smuggles might the most boring troll in forum history. Nothing provocactive or original at all.
  9. Woodbery is right. However, the angst some people are having over an insignificant move is silly.
  10. They don't need to talk about the door now. The shooter was a trans. That's their story.
  11. McKinstry gets a big intro from the Tigers official account. The comments are amusingly stupid.
  12. His MILB OBP was impressive, but his BB% has dropped from 11% to 7% in the majors. His K% has gone from 18% to 29%. I don't see him getting regular chances at age 27 unless someone gets hurt and he gets hot at the right time. It's not a move to get excited about or to complain about either. He gives them a versatile 26th player.
  13. I was hoping he would make it, but what you you say makes sense. They may have messed up his development a bit because of Rule 5.
  14. NSFW because of the language , but spot on.
  15. There might be a lot of traveling by the time Harris is done this week!
  16. This may have been discussed already, but why are the Tigers done with Spring training so early? Some teams are playing through Tuesday which is typical of past springs.
  17. Might as well ban toilet paper as well. Why should I pay for your toilet paper with my tax dollars? Bring your own toilet paper. If you forget to bring it, then you'll just have to hold it in until you get home.
  18. I also am not making the assumption that either Baddoo or Carpenter is going to start the season in Toledo. One or more of the outfielders is likely going to DH frequently, so five outfielders isn't too many. Vierling or Schoop can back up at the corners in an emergency and if there is an injury, they can shuttle someone from Toledo.
  19. I don't know how many Republicans were there, but the room wasn't empty.
  20. I don't think there are many fans that still think that Cabrera is going to do exciting things at this point. He has been ineffective for a long time.
  21. To be fair, Trump couldn't hit. He batted .138 in 9 known games: https://www.huffpost.com/entry/donald-trump-baseball_n_5eb225ccc5b62b850f9406ec
  22. With Lorenzon on the IL and Vest optioned, it appears that Wingenter and Shreve will be heading north.
