  1. I've been investing in short-term CDs and treasuries. I am looking forward to the first expiring at the end of December. At that time, I will likely buy some more short-term stuff.
  2. If the interest rates get that high again, I am investing in long-term CDs and bonds and never going back into the market.
  3. I am not upset about losing him , but Candelario led the team in WAR and both '20 and '21.
  4. He is good if he can stay healthy. His last two seasons have been cut short by knee injuries. I don't know whether those were fluke injuries or whether he can be considered injury prone.
  5. I was reluctant to start a new thread, but the Rule V Draft has traditionally been a big event at Motown Forums. This is a thread for serious discussion as well as party preparation. Yes, Edman, we know it's called "Rule 5", but the party invitations have already been sent and there is nothing Liston can do about it now.
  6. 10 million for pre-injury Boyd is reasonable. It all depends on whether he can stay healthy. I am generally wary about pitchers and injuries.
  7. The problem is he's still going to be on a bad team.
  8. It looks like an Avila move, but yeah we can only hope that he's smarter than Avila.
  9. Boyd has a new changeup. How many days until spring training?
  10. 10 million is a lot for a relief pitcher. I think he will be starting.
  11. He was pitching in relief though. Can he sustain the velocity two times through the order?
  12. Boyd has always had the potential to break out, so it could work out well. It's just a little disappointing to see their first semi-major move be for a 31-year-old pitcher who has never really put it tgether for a full season and spends a lot of time on the IL. It seems like the type of move you make later in the off-season when teams are hunting for bargains.
  13. Very uninspiring signing. What month are you all picking in the Matt Boyd IL pool?
  14. I don't see her much. Sometimes, the baseball tweeters that I follow ridicule her and I see that. Occasionally, I'll click on a trending topic where I don't even know what the title means and something stupid will show up. I wish there was a way we could drop trending topics from our feed. They are completely useless.
  15. I know it's happening and I accept it. I just don't want to rationalize why it's OK because of his long ago past.
  16. I can see honoring him for the last couple years of his career, but Cabrera has been replacement level for SIX years. Enough is enough. Cabrera was the greatest Tigers hitter I have seen in my lifetime and there are a lot of great memories. The last six years do not enhance that in any way. If anything, they take away from the memories.
  17. I doubt this place will make anybody famous! I don't view this forum as wide reaching social media. It would be good if grew some more, but if it got too big, I would probably not like it as much. I like that we all know each other a little bit. I agree the media should stop giving crazy politicians a lot of attention, but they won't because craziness gets them clicks.
  18. I think I blocked Flipowski too. I don't even know who he is, but he kept showing up on my timeline.
  19. I don't follow any polliticians. I have her blocked, but somebody quoted her. I actually unblocked her momentarily as to not identify the person who quoted her. I just posted it here because it was comically stupid and the thread title suggests this is a good place for crazy tweets I am confident that she doesn't read motown forums.
  20. It's funny. I am definitely not a Libertarian and don't agree with most of the ideology, but Justin Amash was about the only congress person I liked listening to.
