I remember I once filled in at some big meeting of Bureau of Substance Abuse Researchers and directors because the big guns from Massachusetts couldn't show up. The polls don't suggest that people are being reached. I know it's early, but if people hate Trump as much as you say, you would think that it would start showing up in the polls. Yes, the polls could be wrong, but I'm not making that assumption.

I have read all his books, including ones not in the series. Sometimes, it is easy to figure it out. Other times, it's more difficult. I enjoy the characters too, especially Cork. In some of the later books, I will say that Cork's mentor - the wise old man - gets a little too much play and it becomes unrealistic.

However, if he uses it in the same speech where he is asking people to honor insurrectionists, then the context gets lost. We've seem this game before. Say something outrageous. The libs get triggered. MAGAs say that's not what he meant. libs try to put some nuance into it. MAGAs laugh at them. Media normalizes Trump. libs look silly even though they are right. We lose this game every time.

If people are not interested in facts and truth, then having facts and truth is not an advantage. This is a huge problem in our country which perhaps overrides any other problem.

I like those shoes. I switch into my Hokas when I to teach because they are more comfortable for walking around. Dump makes such a big deal of trying to sound like a regular guy, yet constantly wears his stupid oversized suit everwhere.

Thousands of veterans are homeless. Many of them suffer PTSD from fighting in battles in order to make your life easier. Yes, I know there are some homeless who pretend to be veterans to get your sympathy, but many are real veterans too.

Humans like to assume that people with tough lives deserve their fate. It would make then uncomfortable to think otherwise, because then they would have to accept that it could happen to them. It is very difficult to kick drug and alcohol habits and virtually impossible to "kick" mental health problems. There is a small percentage of scammers out there and they are usually easy to identify. People like that are disgusting, but the vast majority of people on the streets are in dire need of help. You see homeless people sleeping on the street with sores on their bodies in the middle of the winter. You think someone like that is going to drive home in a Mercedes?
