  1. It's highly proprietary, so that is unlikely. He may know people that do have access to it and get their opinions along with his own observations.
  2. They have been terrible for six years supposedly with the intention of re-building. 12 out of 30 teams make the playoffs and they play in in medium market division. It is reasonable for fans fans to expect a contender by now.
  3. I remember patience from 1989 to 2005. It's more fun to bitch and moan.
  4. For what it's worth, Stewart made some top 100 prospect lists.
  5. I don't see what's so great about Hinch, but I don't think getting rid of him is going to fix anything. Getting a new GM should change things, although improvement would take time.
  6. The eternal optimist versus the cynical pessimist! Fun times. 😄
  7. Without question, but if they couldn't sign him then I wouldn't do it because I don't expect The Tigers to be very good the next two years.
  8. I would if I knew they could sign him long term.
  9. Nobody is asking for your help. Your enthusiasm is appreciated though!
  10. Wenceel Perez is Lou Whitaker. I will say that Perez has great numbers though which is something Hill never had.
  11. Yes, they would have, but fans of other teams would have been doing the same thing.
  12. Of course, they need better from those two. The point is not all top prospects develop into stars.
  13. What if Torkelson and Mize are Jason Thompson and Dave Rozema?
  14. They are probably doing a Derek Jeter documentary.
  15. There is nothing wrong with being an optimist. It probably adds a couple of years to your life - the Tigers might finally be good in those years.
  16. Baseball America has been doing this for years and they are almost always wildly wrong. It would be hard for this team to have a trajectory similar to the 78-84 Tigers simply because it is rare for any team to come together as beautifully as that one did. It's possible, but it's a longshot by definition. First, they would have to develop Whitaker, Trammell, Morris, Petry, Parrish and later Gibson. That is a remarkable collection of homegrown players. Then they have to be smart enough to make trades for Lemon, Hernandez, Lopez, Wilcox, Berenguer and Herndon. They only signed one free agent (Evans) and he wasn't even a big part of the championship team. There is nothing about the current Tigers organization which makes me think they are going to pull all of that off. The belief that they will do it is totally based on faith and not based on any likelihood.
  17. Or he could be like Pujols this year and be bad in a limited role but not embarrass himself.
