  1. Yes, He was an unexpected choice. He basically replaces Torkelson offensively without improving their defense and perhaps making it worse. He's a good offensive player in his good years though. Hopefully, they get one of those years.
  2. I doubt they have much interest in Santander. He's not a good fit.
  3. I am sure he is considering that and would want to bring in someone who he thought worked well with young players. He also surely realizes that team chemistry is not always sustainable from year to year if you don't have enough talent. Hinch actually suggested that in the inerview with him and Harris early in the off-season.
  4. I liked Harold Baines and wish he didn't become an example of a weak HoF, but he just was not a Hall of Fame talent. He had an OPS+ of 100 or more 19 years in a row, which is impressive consistency and longevity, but a 121 career OPS+ is not nearly enough for an average corner outfielder. Maybe, if he was a gold glove second baseman...
  5. I don't think there is any evidence that playing for the Yankees helps somone get into the Hall of Fame. Every team has some questionable players in the HoF including the Tigers - Morris and Kell. I don't think Lemon belongs, but I do agree he is underrated. He is another one like Whitaker who never had a stand out season.
  6. If Trump wasn't born into wealth, he would have spent his life going in and out of prisons and mental health treatment. He has lived the most charmed life of anybody ever.
  7. Sabathia belongs. Whitaker belongs too. Being private does not help, but I think the main reason Whitaker is not in the Hall of Fame is because he never had an elite season which is what people remember. I don't believe there is any other player with 75 WAR who never had huge MVP or near MVP season. What he did have was more very good years than almost any middle infielder ever. His consistency and durability was truely remarkable and Hall of Fame worthy.
  8. I think they should go after Trump more. The whole country is way too soft on him.
  9. The guy is so moronic, I long assumed he was a parody.
  10. She seems super conservative, but reasonably honest. Trump misjudged the honest part.
  11. I think it was a mutual snub, but this video fascinates me.
  12. They made sure of that.
  13. Some other Presidents (maybe all of them) have divided us to some extent, but Trump is the only one who actively tries to do it every day. He revels in it.
  14. I hope not because that would make us a ****ty country.
  15. DEI are the three favorite letters of the right. It's all they ever talk about now.
  16. I remember him saying that as it happened. I wasn't sure I heard it right because I couldn't believe that anyone would be dumb and insensitve enough to say anything like that. I always knew he was a stupid shallow douchebag, but I didn't know what a psychopath he was until that moment.
  17. I do think they are seriously interested and would not be surprised if they signed him.
  18. We don't know what the viable options are because we don't what the Tigers think abut the readiness of the options or what position they will ultimately play.
  19. I agree on both points, I just don't think that waiting another year to make improvements externally is necessarily going to give them a better chance to win. Rignt now, they play in a relatively soft division and have the best pitcher in baseball. They are ready now.
  20. What happens if they lose Skubal in two years and Greene becomes difficult to sign?
  21. That could be either good or bad.
  22. It would be cool if Canada were added too. However, I think we may be too big already. 330 million people and so much diversity. It's kind of unwieldy. And we obsess over the constitution which was written when there were fewer than 4 million people. Itwas a totally different country.
