  1. The Tigers need to find some players that can hit above C level: Cabrera, Candelaria, Castro, Castro, Clemens, Cameron
  2. This is how I feel. He is a weak GM compared to others, but he is not totally incompetent. If they have a chance to get something decent for their relievers then do it. Avila trading Skubal would be problematic. They can't go on like this forever though. It's time to move on to another GM.
  3. What are your plans for a sock puppet account? You going to troll Sportz?
  4. BILL JAMES AND BILLY BEAN ARE WRECKING BASEBALL AVILLA AND HENCH NEED TO GET THEIR HEADS OUT OF THEIR SPREADSHEETS AND GET BACK TO BASICS EXIT VELLOCITY AND LAUNCH ANGEL ARE FOR NERDS YOU SEE THE BALL YOU HIT THE BALL.
  5. I think we can speculate about pretty much anything here without hurting anybody except for relatives of minor leaguers.
  6. I remember seeing Madison's stats in TSN and thinking he was going to be pretty good!
  7. If he hits in AAA, I think he'll be back. He's not off to a great start.
  8. I think Baddoo should have stayed in AAA longer and probably would have if it weren't for Meadows health problems.
  9. They won't get any more than a lottery pick for them, but if let's say Lange was packaged with Soto, they might get something decent.
  10. Schoop has an option, but it doesn't seem likely that he would choose to leave after this season unless he finishes strong. I'd probably keep him another year for the reasons you say.
  11. Which is why I'd try to trade them! Their relievers have been good this year, but I suspect them to regress next year. That's what relievers do. A team in the Tigers positon should market all relievers.
  12. Vest, Lange and Jimenez are worth keeping, but they are also worth trading.
  13. Even Greene has not been such a positive lately. .233/.290/.384 in July.
  14. This is not worse than some of the stuff I see on marketwatch!
  15. They are paying people in California to "fight inflation" too. I am generally in favor of helping people when they need it, but giving money to help fight inflation will just make inflation worse.
  16. This old, but there is some interesting info on reaching base via error here: https://www.baseballprospectus.com/news/article/1167/aim-for-the-head-more-reaching-on-errors/ The leaders have a strong tendancy to be RHB presumably because they hit the ball to the left side more. Ground ball hitters also tend to reach base on error more often.
  17. Should we pay attention to you? Like when you say you're not going to invest in something, we invest!
  18. I just looked that up and it is more of a skill than I realized at lerast for the top guys. Is reaching on base via error also a skill? Studies have not been conclusive, but hitting a lot of gound balls and being fast most likely increases your probability.
  19. True, they don't really serve a purpose. A hitter should be penalized for "making an error", but there are other ways to do that especially when they have cameras tracking everything and can calculate the probability that a play is made.
  20. I think errors should be treated like HBPs. The batter shouldn't get credit for a hit, but should not be charged with an out when he got on base. It's analagous to a HBP because the batter reaches base mostly by accident and not because of skill.
  21. I read a lot of financial sites and it seems like being right or wrong is almost a random event. Perhaps, the smart ones stay silent. I don't know.
  22. You really need to get away from Fox News and right wing radio. They are not good for your health.
