  1. I don't believe there is anyone on the board thinks Hinch is Hitler because of the Astro scandal. Most believe that the scandal was overblown, but they question why players continued to cheat when Hinch apparently tried to stop them.
  2. I was going to say that the Tigers had better pitching, but they are about the same this year. I didn't realize how poor the Angels offense was this year. On the other hand, Trout and Ohtani are a lot more entertaining than anything the Tigers have.
  3. Today was a good day for a long hike in the remote wilderness of New Hampshire.
  4. I think most of what he does "makes sense". He correctly identifies weaknesses and tries to fix them with trades and free agents. He just hasn't been good at it! He lacks innovation and perhaps negotiation skills.
  5. I just looked at the video one more time to see if I was missing something. I still don't see anything wrong with his gesture.
  6. It would make it more interesting for sure, but they still wouldn't make the same impact as NBA first rounders.
  7. People talk about the draft like it's the NBA or the NFL draft, but the baseball draft just doesn't have the same impact and it has no immediate impact. It's is fun to speculate and dream though.
  8. Being a fuckwad is pretty much a TV news requirement now.
  9. Gavin Cross -Good baseball name and sounds like he's a hitter. Jace Jung - Alliteration is good, but his name is Jace. He'll be overrated. Justin Crawford - Will be overrated because his father played. Brock Porter - A pitcher with two last names. That won't work. Cole Young - Again, two last names, but a hitter can get away with it. Connor Prielipp - Just a terrible name and they are already talking reliever. Forget about him.
  10. Nothing is going to happen to Trump. The only hope is that enough moderate Republicans are disgusted enough by his behavior that they won't vote in 2024.
  11. We were all wondering how quickly he would disrespect his ex-wife and raise money off her death. He didn't disappoint.
  12. If they had GOP primaries this summer, he would win easily. If there was a Biden - Trump rematch today, I think Trump would win that too. Even the Democrats blame him for inflation. I think that's silly, but it's what they think.
  13. Not only aren't they going to do anything, but there is a still a good chance Trump wins in 2024.
  14. I have seen no indication of dementia in Biden. The irony is that most of the people who say Trump has dementia are Trump supporters and Trump is less coherent than Biden. I don't think Trump has dementia either. He has a different set of mental health problems.
  15. I hope somebody else runs next time, but not because of that video. I want to see younger candidates than we have recently.
  16. You have to be able to hit before you can be a clutch hitter.
  17. That is absolutely true. You can have too little hitting though.
  18. He seems to have decent knowledge of prospects, but I don't know if he has insider info. Tigers twitter likes him, but they are always pumping each other up, so who knows. I am skeptical about him having great sources.
  19. America's biggest problem:
  20. Defensive metrics bounce around a lot from year to year. A good defender should have plus signs every year, but it's not precise like hitting stats. +21 could be out of whack due to randomness or because of shifts. I don't know how much Statcast does to factor shifts into the equation. My original post was in response to someone who said that Schoop is a solid defender which I think the annual stats show to be true.
  21. +21 is really high, but he has been consistently above average: 2016 +13 2017 +6 2018 +5 2019 +4 2020 +5 Top second bassemen from 2016 - 2022 Schoop +55 LeMahieu +42 Starlin Castro +31 Kinsler +29 Segura +23 Odor +23
