  1. It sounds as if Carlson is saying that American men are a bunch of cry babies who are dominated by women and they get their feelings hurt.
  2. Guns are not the reason why crazy people kill, but guns allow them to kill with great ease. That is the problem.
  3. No, they are narcissists by definition. You pretty much have to be a narcissist to spend your life trying to get votes. Naturally, some are worse than others.
  4. I don't know a lot about him. He seems to play to the same target audience as Trump. However, the Democrats made a mistake demonizing every Republican President. Then when they did the same with Trump who deserved it, it was like crying wolf. I expect I won't like DeSantis, but I don't know how much he is like Trump yet. I am 100% voting for whomever Democrat candidate is though. I won't consider any Republican until they clean up their embarrassing shit show.
  5. I wonder if he is still getting paid? He couldn't be. I'm not even sure Adduci could pull this off.
  6. These kinds of distinctions just serve as a distraction from the real issue. What difference does it make what you call it? Either way, it's an advanced machine whose only function is to kill people as quickly as possible.
  7. He is likely not broken, but he doesn't have a long enough track record to know how good he is. Is he an ace or his he Matt Boyd (who had similarly good stretch in 2019) ?
  8. Wow, Tucker Carlson blames the parade shooting on women nagging men about their male privilege (along with other dumb reasons)
  9. My top ten Tigers left fielders: 1. Bobby Veach 2. Willie Horton 3. Rocky Colavito 4. Bobby Higginson 5. Charlie Maxwell 6. Steve Kemp 7. Dick Wakefield 8. Matty McIntyre 9. Fats Fothergill 10. Goose Goslin
  10. Looking at the best WAR years with the Tigers: Kemp 3.3 4.2 3.5 3.8 Higginson 3.6 3.2 5.3 3.4 Higginson had more bad years at the end, but his peak was very similar to Kemp. Kemp had his bad years elsewhere.
  11. Yeah, it was a pretty big deal and something I actually looked forward to. There were so few games on TV back in the 70s that the Saturday afternoon and Monday Night games of the week were big events too. They hardly ever showed the Tigers except '76 when Fidrych was pitching, so I always hoped to see the Big Red Machine.
  12. He certainly wasn't the first player to enjoy women! Whether or not he did it more than others or it affected his play is pure speculation.
  13. Being compared to Steve Kemp is not a knock. I liked Higginson and I thought he and Clark got a bad rap as the best hitters on a bad team.
  14. I doubt I will watch the all-star game, but Cabrera does seem like the right choice if the have pick someone. He has been their only consistent hitter all year.
  15. Kemp and Higginson were similar. Kemp will always be remembered more for who he was traded for than what he did with the Tigers.
  16. I think being smart makes DeSantis potentially more dangerous, but only if he has the same intent as Trump. I am pretty sure deSantis' intentions are not good, but I don't know how bad they are. Trump was pretty easy to figure out. He hasn't changed in over 40 years. He was a horrible person before DeSantis was even born.
  17. Oil was down 9% today and is now under $100. Things may be happening.
  18. The bigotry is just a front to get the stupid MAGAs on board. None of power seekers give a crap about any of that stuff.
  19. Maybe the Russian oligarchs had no problem with Putin as he rose to power. Money is very powerful. Almost everything this country does is for their benefit. I don't see that changing. Maybe they want a fascist police state. I don't know.
  20. Yes, it is not any kind of analysis. I just thought the numbers looked low.
  21. There are oligarchs that are wealthy enough to buy the United States. The question is do the oligarchs want a police state fascist?
  22. One thing is that he wouldn't be easily duped by dictators of other countries. He wouldn't make us the laughingstock of the world with his idiocy. On the other hand, he could be more dangerous to our democracy as you say. I don't know yet. Would he alienate more than half the country by "owning the libs" or would he become more moderate as President than he is as governor of a red state?
  23. If I had to choose between them, I would choose the devil I don't know. I absolutely can not stand hearing or seeing Trump or watching his naive followers fawn over him. Trump with a brain would be more dangerous though, so it could get worse.
