  1. I'm thinking of the Willy Adames trade last year where the Rays traded Adames for two relatively unknown pitchers. it turned out to be a good trade for both teams as Adames has been quite good since the trade, Rasmussen has surprisingly turned into a good starter at least for now and Feyereisen has been a good reliever.
  2. There is nothing negative about Lange's stats right now. I just don't have enough information about him to project his future results with any accuracy. most pitchers with low BABIP and 0 home run rate don't sustain that performance. We already know Hader is one of the relatively rare pitchers who can keep his BABIP consistently low, so that is not a factor for him. Because he can keep his hit rate so low, his high above average walk rate is also not a factor. I am not really concerned about Lange. I don't really have a strong opinion on him. He's a failed starter having 40+ innings of success as a reliever. That is a positive, but not enough information to say that he'll be a top reliever in the future. I am not advocating trading Lange at all. I just don't think he is such a sure thing that I am going to make him untouchable. I don't know that he should be any less tradeable than Will Vest who has even better numbers this year. I wouldn't trade anyone for prospects. I am done with that, but if they can package some relivers for a hitter who can help the next couple of years, I'd be all for it.
  3. It seems unlikely that you would think that, but your response to my post made it seem that way.
  4. So, are you predicting that Alex Lange is the next Josh Hader?
  5. I did a search and read some Bible quotes about killing people if they had sex outside of marraige. That's the kind of thing that turns people away from the Bible and religion. My mother's home health aide once told me I am going to hell for not believing in God. 😀 Anyway, I hope that you do love all people and don't want bad things to happen to them, because I believe that's what it should be all about. That's the last I'll say on this topic in this forum.
  6. Are his percentile rankings good because he's having a good year or are they good because he is doing something different now? These statcast stats are generally not predictive for pitchers. His walk rate is the same as last year His BABIP is .245 and he has allowed 0 homers. Can he keep that up? His k rate is a little higher which is good.
  7. OK, he tried to sound nice about it which is better than most are doing these days, but where did Jesus say that he discouraged homosexuality? It sounds like Jason Adams is uncomfotable with people that have different identities than himself and is using religion to try to justify his feelings. I don't think they should have made them wear these uniforms. It has nothing to do with baseball and given the strong masculinity and peer pressure among most male athletes, they had to know that there would be push back. This wasn't a good idea
  8. Jesus never said anything about homosexuality or LGBTQ (or whatever the acronym is now). I don't think people were even aware of different sexual identities back then. Jesus preached kindness and treating all people with respect. You can argue about whether sexual identity should be taught in school and at what age, but it's not Christian to marginalize people who are different from you. If Jason Adam thinks he is superior to other people based on his identity that makles him a bigot.
  9. I want the Tigers to get healthy and win as many games as they can. It may be a development year, but they have enough talent and potential talent in a weak division to at least get up to .500. Realistically, I projected them as .500 team going into the season and I still believe they can do that. They need to get healthy though.
  10. I don't think it's something to agree or disagree on. It is a small sample size. A scout could say that he sees something physically different in Lange between the beginning of 2021 versus the end of 2021/2022. That wouldn't be so much a sample size argument though. It would be a scout seeing a real change. You'd still need more innings to see if he was for real, but the probabilty of success would be higher.
  11. 42 innings is a small sample size. That doesn't mean he won't continue and have a great career, but it is a small sample size. His 38 innings (and 5.63 ERA) for Toledo and Detroit through July last year was also a small sample.
  12. I think that's a small sample size. Even a full season for a reliever would be a small sample size.
  13. Will Vest is having a good year too. Maybe, Fetters is a coach who can get the most out of relievers. Relief pitchers are so volatile though. They often have random good years within a mediocre career. You can't really build around them.
  14. I doubt we even care about him in six years. With a young reliever, I'd never look that far ahead. You won't get anything for just him, but if he was part of a package for some hitter than can help them the next couple of years, I'd do it.
  15. I know he's been good this year, but we've heard this before about relievers. He is 26 years old and wasn't even that great in the minors. I'm not going to get too excited after two good months. That being said, I agree he won't bring much back in a trade, so they might as well find out whether his early season dominance is for real.
  16. He exposed the entire government of being either too weak or unprepared to stand up to his bullying. Even the Dems didn't know how to respond. Both impeachment hearings were weak even though the second one was insanely obvious. They still haven't been able to do anything to him the last year and a half.
  17. Jason Adam and people like him are bigots, but I also don't think they need to be having all these special uniform days. It has nothing to do with the game and it just creates tension.
  18. I first read "I know I don't want to play short." as "I don't want to bring up Zach Short".
  19. I think it would be Davis taking Candelario's spot and they would rotate the 3B position between Davis and H. Castro.
  20. which is typical for middle infielders defensively.
  21. Another big blue city. Damn liberals are making the country unsafe.
  22. AJ Hinch knows that the third spot is only the fifth most important spot in the line-up.
  23. He's not taking playing time away from someone who is any better, so they might as well keep him in Detroit. He won't learn to hit MLB pitching in Toledo.
  24. He said similar things about about Willi Castro at the end of last year.
