  1. You can never have enough pitching depth...but I thought they had decent pitching depth going into the season. In fact, I thought they had playoff quality pitching going in. If anything, I wish they had done more on the offensive side. I am not sure what they tried to do or what they could have done. It just seemed a waste to have such solid pitching and no offensive support.
  2. I am not blaming Harris, but I doubt any of those guys will replace Mize's performance over let's say 80 innings. Mize has been somewhat of a disappointment, but still an average starter when healthy. These guys are probably replacement level which is what you can expect from AAA depth,
  3. It is indeed difficult to carry average major leaguers on the bench or in the minors. It is expensive and it's also difficult for the players to not play regularly when they know they are good. However, the teams that best figure out how to manage the new game of attrition are going to have am advantage. I am not blaming Tigers management, just commenting on the state of the game.
  4. It didn't used to be normal, but the the linked list shows that it is. Depth has become a more important part of roster building than it ever was.
  5. Cook Political Report AZ Harris +2 GA Tie MI Harris +3 NC Harris +1 PA Harris +1 NV Trump +3 WI Harris +3
  6. I think it's easier to push the rigged election narrative in a close race. Some people will fall for it regardless, but I think most people would be quiet if it's a landslide.
  7. I would guess that Trump made donations in exhange for personal favors and didnt give a **** about what happened to SanFrancisco, California or America.
  8. Right, high rates can be a problem in general. I was just selfishly commenting on my own situation!
  9. I kind of like the high rates now that I am getting older and starting to shift more money into CDs.
  10. Dump and Mush are getting sued by UAW for intimidating union workers by patting themselves on the back for firing striking workers. I don't know if that actually happened, but I getting really tired of billionaire assholes who never had to struggle to find a job in their lives bragging about firing employees.
  11. His defense is no longer good enough to carry him for defense only.
  12. Anything new from Dump or is just talking about how great he is and comnplaining about how unfairly he is treated?
  13. The Wockenfuss/Summers platoon was the best platoon ever.
  14. I heard that it crashed. Mush is doing such a great job with that site.
  15. I'll never forget listening to the broadcast when Frank Beckmann announced that Raul Casanova broke his hamate bone. Lary Sorenson (who was probably drunk) started laughing about how he never heard of a hamate bone. Beckmann scolded him on the air telling him that it wasn't funny. It was a serious injury that would keep him out for a long time. I had never heard a broadcaster getting scloded like that. I knew that there had to be something going on beyond that incident.
  16. If Trump was paying them, then they probably did it for free.
  17. I listen to those stations when I am on my way to a hike in NH. It's the only alternative to country music, conservative talk radio and right wing religiuos shows.
  18. I don't really understand the complaints about the cost of eggs. I just got a dozen eggs for $3.00. That is more than it used to be, but I still consider it a good buy. That's like 4-6 meals for $3.00.
  19. It is pretty surprising that they are not doing worse. However, I think we also might be underestimating the number of injuries in baseball for all teams now. Baseball has become a game of attrition where the amount of depth a team has become almost impotant as the number of top performers they have. It seems players are pushing their bodies to get the highest performance possible, but injuries have become so commonplace now that perhaps the pursuit of excellence has become counterproductive, especially for pitchers.
  20. 84 does not have time for your probabilities. It's all about possibilities.
  21. It is funny that Harris and Trump both are promising to end taxes on tips. I also love that Trump is upset that she "copied his idea". 😀 It's not going to be passed anyway and both of them know it.
  22. I was more conservative in my 20s. Once I started working in social services research I became more aware of the importance of social services and noticed that some services for people in need would get big cuts when Republicans were in power. I didn't think this was at all offset by the sometimes slightly lower (almost unnoticeable) tax rates under Republicans. Republicans were supposedly for lower spending and lowering the national debt but the debt kept soaring regardless of the party in power. Retirement investments were supposed to do better under Republicans, but they didn't. I initially bought into trickledown economics, but that didn't work either. So, I came to the conclusion that Republicans were only helping the wealthy and guaranteeing that everybody had a right to carry deadly weapons. So, I have became more and more liberal over the years.
  23. I asked the question of MTB because we are electing a President for that time period and MTB appeared to be mocking the selection of Harris over Biden.
