  1. Interesting on how much Schoop took advantage of the shift defensively last year: https://www.motowntigers.com/2022/12/07/ban-on-shifts-could-force-tigers-to-move-jonathan-schoop-off-second/
  2. That was what I was thinking. I would have to think that less time between pitches would force them to get away from max effort on every pitch. Either that or throw even fewer innings.
  3. Another thing which I think is going to be an even bigger deal than banning the shift is the pitch clock. Having less time to rest between pitches will likely hurt pitchers significantly.
  4. Ben Verlander was good when he started, but he has become full of himself, so yeah it wouldn't surprise me. However, some of the comments (one by Verlander) suggested that it was a joke.
  5. I love his answer about building a team for the ballpark. A smart team should be able to take advantage of an asymmetric park. I don't get the stuff about the park not being "fair" to hitters. It's not a terrible park for hitters, It's below average home run park, but it's pretty close to neutral for run scoring. The obsession with the long ball is hurting the game.
  6. Stay away from Chasing Dollanders.
  7. No doubt about it. ANYTHING a Republican President does is going to be roasted ny the left. The reverse is also true.
  8. I think this was a joke.
  9. That's a little too sophisticated for this party.
  10. They are going to claim a player we've never heard of off waivers, put him back on waivers next week and then eventually assign him to the minors. And then Edman can explain to us what really happened after the beat writers get it all wrong!
  11. I'd rather have Boyd, but not by a lot. It makes sense they got the same deal.
  12. The Tigers continue to lead the league in medical updates.
  13. Better response than I expected!. Most improved poster?
  14. Baez WAR with Tigers 2.5 Perez career WAR 2.6 So, Baez contributed as much to the Tigers this year as Perez contributed his entire career.
  15. Not quite equal. 43.33 vs 43.3. That has got to be intentional.
  16. Wow, I was wondering what the .8 was about.
  17. Your frustration is understandable, but the previous administration failed the last six years. It will take a while to fix it. Hopefully not 7 or 8 years.
  18. McGriff joked today that he is going to go into the hall of Fame with the blue cap he wore in those commercials. I'll give him credit for having a sense of humor.
  19. I am not surprised that McGriff made it but how does he get 16 olf 16 votes? You can make a good HoF case for McGriff, but he wasn't good enough for 16 individuals to determine independently that he belongs. There must have been some serious lobbying going on.
  20. He probably feels as if he hasn't been getting enough attention lately, so he had to go to the next level. He's not organized or brave enough to go through with it. He's got people talking about what he said which is what he wanted.
  21. I don't care about Candelario not coming back. I just think it's inaccurate for people to be putting him in the same group as Reyes and the Castros. He was bad this year, but has shown in the past that he is capable of being a major league starter over the course of a full season.
  22. No doubt he should not be anywhere near a position of influence and power.
  23. I think there is zero chance of him going to jail and he knows it.
  24. I think he is having just as much fun now as he did then and probably making more money. He loves doing the everybody is against me schtick.
