That is not what I see on the chart. NPR is very close to the center while Fox is wide right. Are you confusing Fox Business with Fox News?
-
yeah, I think their news reporting is quite balanced and intelligent.
-
I think their big words and cultured tones make them seem more left than they are! They certainly are not extreme.
-
I hear NPR occasionally and they are definitely not Fox News of the left. They actually seem to be right in the center. I was actually expecting them to be more extreme because my even more liberal than me co-workers and friends like it so much, but I don't find them extreme at all. I would say Huffingpost is Fox News of the left.

Trump told MAGAs not to use mail-in ballots because he planned to sabotage them.
-
Do you have any strong evidence that the election was not secure? Thinking that mail-in ballots might be less secure than in-person is not evidence.
-
If we didn't, Trump surely would have taken maximum advantage of it.

Ideally, you'd want to know what was happening at all points in time: Before the policy change, during the response lag and after the response lag. Maybe some kind of interrupted time series.

I never heard of Inkster, MI before now.
-
I remember watching that. It was a perfect response by Nokes. How did he do that? I guess that's what catchers do.

The United States is super conservative economically and that is driven by a small percentage of very wealthy people who control the country. I think we are generally socially liberal compared to other countries in many respects. When we stray from that, it's done to protect the economic conservatism.

I got it in late December. It wasn't as hard as getting the original shot, but I had to search around for it.

OK, In the past you have suggested that he could become like Hitler with smart perople doing his dirty work. You may have just been saying it hypothetically. His approach does give us lessons in how it COULD happen here.
-
I still think he's too intellectually dumb to be Hitler and the people he hires to do his dirty work are even dumber. I also don't know if he is evil enough. There is so much evidence of all kinds of crimes he has committed throughout his life, but there have been no rumors of him deliberately having people murdered. If there was even a hint of that, it would be all over the place. Would he care if people got killed for his benefit? Probably not. But there is no evidence that he has ever called for that in his life.

I think it mostly has to do with a massive pandemic that was going to cause a lot of death and suffering regardless. The second most blame goes to Trump dismissing the severity of the pandemic to protect his presidency. As for Biden, his messaging was a lot better, but it seemed like getting vaccines out to people was very slow and it's still slow. Getting a booster was not easy. Getting testing kits hsas not been easy. Could they have done better? I don't really know.

Ponzi is a good one...The thing about Trump is that he's not even clever or enticing. He is so obviously full of ****, but so many still fall for it and believe everything he says. It is perplexing.

LOCKOUT '22: When will we see baseball again?
Tiger337 replied to Motor City Sonics's topic in Detroit Tigers
Not as many pitched every fourth as people think. There were maybe one or two pitchers on a staff that did that consistently. They sure pitched a lot of innings, but with fewer home runs, they were less stressful innings. Pitchers could coast in certain batters and save their best stuff for key spots. Maybe they can offensive and defensive teams like football. 😃- 1,851 replies

That is good to know. He actually could have added a couple more Negro Leage teams. There were certainly enough players to fill multiple all-star teams.

LOCKOUT '22: When will we see baseball again?
Tiger337 replied to Motor City Sonics's topic in Detroit Tigers
Pitchers not being able hit was not as big of a problem when the DH was first introduced in 1973. I always thought it was fun that some pitchers could bat and some couldn't. A pitcher could really give himself and his team an advantage if he could hit. I guess it is worse now because pitchers have not batted their entire life and practically all of them are anemic.- 1,851 replies

LOCKOUT '22: When will we see baseball again?
Tiger337 replied to Motor City Sonics's topic in Detroit Tigers
It would be calculated the same way as games would still be nine innings long. What would change is that 8 hitters get more at bats and pile up more counting stats. if they changed to 8 innings, so that players wouldn't get more at bats they might change the ERA calculation to base it on eight innings. However, pitchers never pitch nine innings anymore anyway, so they could just leave it the same and keep it comparable across years.- 1,851 replies

They are already skewed beyond recognition by having a game of home runs and strikeouts.- 1,851 replies

How about universally just have eight batters bat?- 1,851 replies
