  1. Humor for stat nerds: https://www.theonion.com/cdc-announces-plan-to-send-every-u-s-household-pamphle-1848354068?fbclid=IwAR2xXMJ93fLKlEJrdgBnmKrb_CSxRJ-t8UyHvFc2-SOFGJXuhg3svcn0upY
  2. I don't think most people have a problem with small business owners making money and I think most realize it's not easy to run a business. When we are critical of businesses, it is usually big businesses that rake in billions and don't treat their emmployees well.
  3. The gamblers don't want the robo umps for obvious reasons. 😄
  4. That definition works more often than not in this forum. Less so when he is talking about the future stardom of Victor Reyes!
  5. yup, if you're a Republican then the Republican obviously won! If you're a Democrat then the Democrat obviously won! I think the primary debates probably mean a little more.
  6. yeah, I am remembering the 2020 one now. I doubt it hurt him as surely his base knows that he was being treated so unfairly.
  7. You can't predict relief pitching. If we look at the list that chasfh posted at the end of the year, the ranks will probably be almost randomly shuffled. You would probably do just as well predicting 3.5 WAR for each team.
  8. On the other hand, Trump never says anything of substance and acts like a five-year old in every debate and never loses support.
  9. The debates suck and don't change anyone's mind. Republicans all say that their candidate won the debate. Democrats all say that their candidate won the debate. There will be debates though. It Trump is a candidate, there is no way he'll turn down a TV appearance. If he's not a candidate, then they'll just have a regular debate without a lot of whining.
  10. Alex Lange and Jason Foley will make all the difference.
  11. My understanding is that everything that has been done since the beginning of the pandemic has been done largely to prevent hospitals from exceeding capacity. So, getting vaccinated is for your own good and the good of everyone else. I really wish that hospitalization trends were presented more often rather than just cases (which isn't very useful) and deaths. Whether or not people will need to get vaccinated every year will probably depend on how many people are projected to get seriously ill. If it becomes "like the flu" then they probably won't require annual vaccinations.
  12. Republicans want more "election security", because they tend to do better when voter turnouts are smaller. If they benefitted from larger turnouts, you wouldn't hear them talk about "election security".
  13. True, But I think that might be a separate problem. If the goal is to get the game back to one where the ball is in play more often, I think a deader ball would do that. I don't know that the problem of fragile pitchers has ever been solved. That might be something biomechanical versus style of play.
  14. Hasn't it always been that way? We just know when someone is injured now because they have surgery. Before surgery, pitchers would get sore arms and become ineffective and/or disappear.
  15. What I want is fewer strikeouts and fewer home runs. I think deadening the ball would do that. Of course, that won't happen because they don't want fewer home runs.
  16. That kind of lame gaslighting does not work in this forum. January 6 was not the day he incited the riot. That started on election day. What he did on January 6 was encourage protestors to gather at a place where he knew a riot was planned. You'd have to be pretty dumb to believe he didn't know what was going to happen. In fact, he tweeted about choas at the captol two weeks before. He was 100% guilty and there is no defense.
  17. I will admit that telling Trump to be quiet is always good advice.
  18. Imagine losing 78 to 19 and thinking that you won.
  19. Pipeline has him listed as the Tigers 23rd best prospect, but he has troubles with command. I think they just like writing his name.
  20. What he did at the end of his presidency disqualifies him from any discussion of the merits of any of his policies. You can't openly try to steal an election and incite a riot and then expect people to sit around and discuss whether anything he did before that was OK. Let's stop pretending he was OK.
  21. Trump has no principles. He has no morals. He is a con man and has been for over 40 years. He is a digraceful human being who doesn't give a crap about this country or anything else but his own self interests. It's a shame that so many have fallen for his act. And what he did at the end absolutely shows that his self interests collide with the US.
  22. He doesn't have a lot of material to work with.
  23. I don't think most voters expected Biden to be a dynamic leader. They voted for him because he's not Trump. He's doing a good job not being Trump. It would be pretty near impossible to be worse than Trump
