  1. I do. I usually put them in my daily bowl of oatmeal
  2. I don't remember the majority of fans liking the extra ining base runner.
  3. Anybody that even discusses a dumb idea like that should not be commissioner.
  4. I find that one way to handle bullies in positions of authority is a form of passive aggressiveness where you do your work, but don't engage with them much (maybe a sarcastic smirk once in a while just for your own satisfaction). Standing up to them works in the moment, but doesn't solve the problem because they'll want revenge. Subservience is never a good response because they'll just bully you more quietly. Passive aggressiveness works especially well with extoverts because extroverts (and it's been my observation that most bullies are extroverts)can not handle passive aggressiveness. Yes, my solution is immature and don't do it anymore, but it works!
  5. I don't think you are a slappy.
  6. I do not make the assumption that they are wiling and able to build a perennial winner. I am sure that they would like to see that, but I am not sure that their budget will allow it. I get the impression that they will not be like they were under Dombrowski/M.Ilitch, but I don't know whether they'll be like Tampa Bay or let's say Milwaukee. I think Harris is smart enough so they won't be Pittsburgh, but I don't know what to expect beyond that.
  7. Arenado is three years older than Bregman, so theoretically getting Arenado for 3 years would be like getting years 4-6 of a Bregman contract. In that case, Bregman for 6 years would be preferable to Arenado for 3 years. I don't know if they can get Bregman for 6, but if they could I think it would be a good deal. As for whether the timing is right, they were in the playoffs last year and they have the best pitcher in baseball with two years left on his contract. The timing seems right to make a push if the right fit is available.
  8. They can potentially make big gambling money off these daily head to head battles.
  9. I don't want them to spend for the sake of spending, but, but I think there is a chance that Harris/Ilitch might be less aggressive with contracts than I want. I still fear a Tampa Bay situation where they have a below average payroll and trade away any player who gets too good/expensive.
  10. No, but those are the kinds of contracts I am expecting from the Tigers - short-term seemingly expensive contracts for flawed pitchers who the Tigers think they can fix.
  11. Good. You're not getting him short-term and I think six years is the best you'll get.
  12. The guy he's batting for goes to third? The whole concept is probably the worst baseball idea I've ever heard which means there is a good chance of it happening.
  13. When I first saw a post about the Golden At Bat rule, I thought it was just joke, but apparently Manfred is actually considering it. Why does he hate baseball?
  14. Sure, if you like psychopaths and wannabe dictators.
  15. I said that Presidents should not have the power to pardon anyone. However, I would protect a family member from a psychopath at all costs.
  16. I personally don't think Presidents should have the power to pardon anyone. However, if I had a son and some vindictive psychopath openly stated that he's out to get me and my family, I sure as hell would use that power if I had it.
  17. What makes you think they were left wing voters? I personally know independents who voted for Trump in 2016, Biden in 2020, and back to Trump this year. Their stated reason was that they thought Harris was too radical. There are more independents than either Democrats or Republicans and they often vote for different reasons than D and R voters. They are also more likely to sit out an election if they don't like either candidate.
  18. Of course Biden pardoned his son. He knows that a much worse criminal was planning to put him in prison.
  19. Yes, I know. They want to go back the 1950s if not earlier.
  20. There is the problem right there. EVERYTHING is about making the biggest profit possible. There are small companies that are trying to make a profit while also being an important part of the community, but they are becoming a smaller and smaller part of our total economny. I would love to see that reversed, but the mega corportations now have so much power and influence, I don't see it ever happening especially not with one of the wealthiest men in the world in lock step with the President.
  21. That's like when a sports team is good but fans scream for an overhaul when it goes into a slump.
  22. Burning everything down is stupid. America is a great country with some things that need to be fixed. You don't tear down something that's great. You try to fix what's broken.
  23. $1,302 for a Brenan Hanifee autograph? https://www.ebay.com/itm/305931822710?mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5338684451&customid=121&toolid=20012&mkevt=1
  24. $500 per letter.
