  1. If someone is planning something large scale like 9/11, a wall is not going to stop them. A wall doesn't stop anyone who really wants to get here. It's a waste of money.
  2. We also need some farmers which is something we lack in the northeast.
  3. How did Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota become part of Yankeedom?
  4. The right likes crypto because they think they don't like government and crypto is detached from government. So, I could see where some inexperienced investors would like it for that reason.
  5. It's also possible that they are not very smart and that their purpose is not well executed. Trump doesn't exactly surround himself with a lot of intellectual talent.
  6. When you get scammed, you are usually sold a product that is too good to be true. I don't get what's so great about crypto. The pitch seems to be that it's going to be our monetary system of the future but the arguments that it should be or will be are not at all convincing to me. It does seem like a scam. I am hearing a lot about nuclear fusion as our energy source of the future. There aren't a lot of ways to invest in that yet, but that sounds intriguing to me (if I were a betting man). I'd rather just stick to index funds.
  7. Best shape of his life alert: Tigers prospect Alex Faedo has been throwing off of flat ground up to a distance of 200 feet. The right-hander underwent Tommy John surgery in January of 2021. The 26-year-old hurler has regained the weight that he lost during COVID and feels he's now in the best shape of his life. The plan is to have him begin throwing bullpen sessions in early January, though there's still no timetable on exactly when he'll return to game action. He remains one of the Tigers' top pitching prospects and will be someone for fantasy managers to keep an eye on early in the year. SOURCE: Detroit Free Press Jan 2, 2022, 7:57 PM ET
  8. Immigrants do more good than harm. If hundreds of thousands cross the border. there will off course be some bad ones. If hundreds of thousasnds of Europeans come here, there are some bad ones too. Most immigrants are coming for work and many business owners are more than happy to use illegals for cheap labor. This is especially true now when there is a shortage of workers.
  9. I would not have a problem with that. We promise to make sure New Hampshire behaves itself.
  10. Right, the ruling class wanted the tax cuts and judges (to prevent regulation). They want imigration (for cheap labor) and they don't give a crap about your cultural issues.
  11. Oh that's right, it was never built. The guy who always keeps his promises couldn't make his signature promise happen. I never supported it. I thought it was one of the dumbest ideas ever and that it would not have prevented people from coming here. It would have been a big waste of money.
  12. MGT is an idiot, but I often wonder what would happen if the United States amicably split into two countries. I think it's unnecessary and I am not promoting it, but I still think about it. Obviously, it would be chaotic and damaging short-term, but I wonder what would happen long-term? How would they be divided and how would it work out economically, culturally, etc. ? I want to hear what people smarter than me think.
  13. The presidency is like professional wrestling to Trump. He enjoyed the insurrection because it was a good show that he helped produce.
  14. MTG got her divorce
  15. Much like inflation, migrant encounters are back to where they were during the Reagan administration.
  16. Trump's wall is not working
  17. Seager retiring from baseball is not a massive shutdown! If you want to go bigger than that, check out the politcal forum. The conservative could use help from intelligent people like you. They are mostly flailing over there. 😀
  18. Facts and truth! 😃
  19. Yeah, I do think many people have been overly cautious about Covid, but lack of caution has been a much bigger problem throughout.
  20. Man, my speculative throw away post is getting quite a reponse. You put the word Covid in a post and people get all worked up. 😀 From day one, I have always thought of Covid as something I didn't want to catch and then give to my parents. I have never been worried about myself. I assume there are others who feel the same way. I also said in my post "fear of Covid/tedium of Covid restrictions", but people only picked up on fear.
  21. I thought this comment on the thread was even more true:
  22. I had ignored the troll for a couple of days, but then when he started marginalizing nurses, I jumped back in. I should not have. He is not someone with whom you can have a reasonable conversation.
  23. It doesn't matter. This is about that misleading data you posted from Germany. That wasn't five years ago.
  24. Foxy is all over the place now. We have bamboozled him.
