I can't find the length of game in any of the box scores. That used to be a standard part of every box score.

That must have been one of the the longest games since they started using the pitch clock. It seemed that way anyway.

I agree, but don't you also have to draft guys that can be developed? It is my understanding that there is more focus on learning about player personality traits (work ethic, motivation, etc) than there used to be.

What are the odds that all four of them reach their potential? I think they'll do well if two of them become above average players. I am not being negative here. I think their system is in good hands now and they'll be competitive for several years. I just don't think we can point to any set of future players and say that's when they'll be read to spend. It might be many years before they are 7 1/2 games in first place on August 16 again.

I think he is risk averse, but being risk averse does not mean being scared. It's more of a carefully planned strategy where you think a cautious approach will bring more long-term success than taking risks.

I had a tick like that when I was a kid. It must have been right around the time McLain was suspended because I remember my father joking to a doctor that it came from that. I actually didn't know what was going on with McLain at the time. Anyway, the doctor asked if I was a lefty or a southpaw. I started to correct him, but my father stopped me since the doctor was either messing with me or was being stupid. I suspect the former. Wow, it's weird how that all just came back to me. I often turn it off when the ghost runner comes in to the game. That is something I can't get used to.
