  1. That looks like a 1970s line-up. Canha is OK leading off, but if the whole point of him leading off is to get on base for Greene, why are you sticking Perez between Canha and Greene? Just put Greene second. If you think that Perez is going to turn into a good hitter with speed, then have him lead off and bat Greene second.
  2. That is the sabemetrically correct answer with a typical line-up.
  3. I was not referring to you. I don't ever remember anyone in particular. I just remember people talking about him like he was a key piece in the bullpen. Of course, they usually had bad bullpens when he was on the team.
  4. Have not seen you in a while Screwball. Welcome back!
  5. No, he stunk at home and on the road: 5.55 home 5.15 away People kept telling me he was good though!
  6. He's getting better with age. He finally got his career ERA under 5.00
  7. Everything we do in this country is for the benefit of the wealthy. Anybody who pays any attentiona at all should have figured that out by now. The Democrats do some things here and there to keep the votes coming in but nothing substantial has been done about income disparity for decades.
  8. He was also totally on board with all the free Covid money. He is no fiscal conservative. Of course, he actually has no principles about anything, but one could argue that he behaved no more fiscally conservative than Obama.
  9. Tyler wouldn't be the first Nevin to be released by the Tigers at age 26 and then go on to a successful MLB career.
  10. JD Vance may be terrible, but hes got the perfect MAGA personna. I think he could be superficially effective which is all you need in politics.
  11. To be fair, he doesn't know many four syllable words. So, he doesn't get much practice.
  12. I am assuming the the 7,8 and 9 hitters won't be .450 OPS hitters all year. If they are are, it won't matter where anyone bats.
  13. Sabermetrically, the best hitter should bat second because that is the spot where you maximize the combination of run scoring and RBI opportunities. Ideally, the leadoff hitter gets on base a lot, but doesn't necessarily hit for power.
  14. Very outspoken about BLM and social justice too.
  15. I predict that most of the top 30 will crap out or get injured before achieving significant success in MLB. All we need is a few good ones though.
  16. But you and Cruzer love prospects! You are high on almost all of them at some point.
  17. I don't either. I think it's from a movie.
  18. It sounded like more cheers than boos. If you want to hear boos, listen to Rob Manfred at the MLB draft.
  19. The majority of people don't care that much, so peronality matters a lot. Trump's fake tough guy routine and cultivated working man accent helps him a lot with males.
  20. That is surprising because I assumed that people that still read newspapers daily tended to be elderly and out of touch. Also wealthy! I'd probably still have newspaper subscriptions if they were not so expensive.
  21. 16-12 and not many (if anybody) are playing over their heads. They can contend and I can see them making deals geared toward this year and next year at the trade deadline if things go well.
  22. They should all be batting second
  23. In order for an analyst to work for me, they have to add some knowledge about the game that I don't already have. Since I have never playerd the game at an advanced level, that is certainly possible, but they rarely do that. They also have to have a good rapport with the play by play man and know when to shut up. Not many check off all those boxes.
