I am ready to see Harris take a chance on a top free agent. I suspect he is risk averse, but he is smart and I trust him to sign the right guy if he does take the plunge. I don't think he would have signed Baez, for example.

Rickey was one of the most exciting athletes I have ever seen. He was cocky, but he totally backed it up with his performance. 65 is pretty young. Who would have thought that such a physical specimen would go so early. You never know.

I won't like that if it happens, but I think a lot of new fans won't mind that. It would be like college sports where players stay with their teams for four years and new ones are coming all the time. All anybody cares about is the playoffs now anyway. During the season, it's all gambling and fantasy baseball.
