I am thinking more nationally, but sports are followed so much differently now than when I was a kid. Young fans don't sit and watch entire games anymore. They have their fantasy teams and their bets and they have access to any game and any highlight they want, so they jump around from game to game or just follow social media for highlights. Baseball is difficult because it's not exciting. In a world of short attention spans, the nature of baseball doesn't grab a lot of attention. This is why they will never do anything to cut down on homers and strikeouts.

Even Trout didn't get hyped much in his prime. Baseball has never been good about marketing players.

And hopefully they don't sell every player that's good.

Too early to worry about that. I just want them to keep winning. If they don't win enough and it gets close late in the season, then I'll worry about what other teams are doing.

I agree fully on your first point. There are very few players who can succeed long-term when they have no ability to get on base via walks. As for pitching staff management, that is kind of an unknown to fans, but I think it's an important consideration. The pitching does not seem to have suffered under Dingler. However, given how well the Tigers staff of chaos did last year and given how important Rogers apparently was to their success, I can see where they might weight his defense heavily in any platoon. I am confident that Hinch will get it right.

They need Rogers back. The Tiger players have a lot of focus and determination, but they have the personality of an upper middle class suburban travel team.

I don't like podcasts because the podcasters always start out by spendng at least five minutes talking about themselves and I really don't care about them at all. I want them to ge right into the subject matter.

The promotion of this rivalry series on the broadcast is nauseating. This isn't college football. In baseball, you grind it out for 162 games. Stop forcing rivalries. Just let it happen.

Assuming Baez is still hitting by the time Meadows, I wouldn't replace him with Meadows. Meadows should just be another piece of the rotation until someone gets hurt or slumps.
