  1. He has these moments where he says normal things. He could easily reverse these opinions tomorrow. It could be that he liked the way the interviewer was treating him or he doesn't think MAGA watches Meet The Press.
  2. It seems like most people here didn't want them to sign any hitters...and so far that's turning out fine. I can't really give them cedit for knowing that Torkelson and McKinsty would hit like allstars and that Baez would bounce back though! I did notice on other sites that a lot of fans wanted Santander.
  3. That would still be an improvement over last year when he was all nothing.
  4. Agreed. It was really well done.
  5. Pope a Dope.
  6. Trying to turn the Tigers into bad boys is a stretch! They've got talent and they play hard. That's good enough for me.
  7. He did do it, just not on the field
  8. Before that it was Kaline in 1955 https://www.mlb.com/news/two-home-runs-in-an-inning-c266221190
  9. He doesn't even do what he's supposed to do in his own county, never mind Ukraine.
  10. There is no such thing as a fair deal with Trump. He won't honor it. He has never honored any deal in his life. He just wants the minerals.
  11. The players won't like it, but if it becomes common practice for teams to avoid those long-term deals, they will have to accept shorter term deals.
  12. I'd rather have Skubal, but the playoffs are still largely a crapshoot. Kershaw, the greatest pitcher of his era, didno do much in the playoffs. Skubal lost the deciding game last year. You do want to have whatever playoff advantage you can get though (and elite starting pitching is probably the best way to do that). I like the four year $160 million idea. I hope those kinds of contracts become more popular. It's not the money that makes long-term contracts terrible. It's the years.
  13. Stephen has got to be the creepiest person in the country.
  14. yeah, I was pretty disappointed wth how is career ended and I don't think it was entirely unavoidable.
  15. One jobs report doesn't matter either way even you totally trust them.
  16. Correct, I don't trust the DOGE **** commission at all. I am just saying that hypothetically if they were legitimately trying to cut waste and fraud, going after the federal reserve for their lavish reconstruction would be the type of thing they should target.
  17. This is probably just another revenge move for Trump, but going after the Fed for wasting money would be the first good thing DOGE has done. https://www.reuters.com/world/us/elon-musk-says-doge-should-examine-federal-reserve-costs-bloomberg-news-reports-2025-05-01/
  18. Possibly. I feel like Baez is athletic enough to play either position if he keeps his head in the game, but I don't really have a preference.
  19. Either way is fine with me. Hinch is going to move them around anyway. But don't bench Sweeney and don't let Jung get in the way of anyone until he shows he can hit.
  20. Tork has been scuffling, but if he keeps hitting home runs and drawing walks, he'll be valuable. Midway between 2023 and the first month of this year would be good.
  21. Vierling, Greene and McKinstry in the outfield, Carpenter DH, Baez 3B, Sweeney SS.
  22. I am seeing a lot of speculation about a flat 1660 or 2000 monthly SS benefit fo all. This would be a big loss for me, but I would honestly accept it to help less fortunate people except for one big condition. It is being done to fund trillions of dollars of tax cuts to wealthy people and corporations. So, **** that! https://www.marketwatch.com/story/a-flat-1-660-monthly-social-security-benefit-for-everyone-its-one-proposed-cbo-remedy-fae3378c?mod=home_lead
  23. Having an expensive military parade for a draft dodger who just fired a bunch of veterans from government positions under the guise of a budget crisis is beyond disgusting. What is this? North Korea?
  24. It could mean that your hitters scoring more runs than the other teams do! I do believe though that the way the playoffs are set up with extra days off, having a couple of elite starters is a bigger advantage than it is in the regular season.
  25. They are the most watched, so doesn't that make them mainstream?
