I always thought that America's involvement in wars was always to the benefit of Americans. Maybe not all Americans or even most Americans and the benefits may not always be well intentioned, but I don't think we are spending money and endangering soldiers for magnanimous reasons

I don't get the impression that Hinch sees Vierling as the primary third baseman. When asked about it, the first two names he brought up were McKinstry and Ibanez. I believe Vierling is viewed as a frequently used utility player.

Just like Maton, McKinstry and Nevin were going to hold down third base when they let Candelario go. I am fine with them going into the season with what they have, but I'm not going to pretend that third base isn't a problem.

Because Jackie Robinson was a very famous and historically important Black man. It makes sense that if someone targeted that particular statue that racism would have been one of the most likely motives. There are different reasons why the statue might have been stolen, but I don't think that concluding that racism was the reason was "silly" in this case. I know that steaing things for scrap metal has become common,but why specifically target the Jackie Robinson statue for that?

I was very quiet, so I got semi-bullied frequently. It never went too far though. I think I never gave the fear response they wanted. I saw others get bullied a lot worse. In a way, social media might have been better for some people because they could get back at them if they were clever.

There is also no reason why someone can't be both an analyst and a reporter.

I'm not sure which is worse - a hate crime or just cold heartless greed. Probably the former, but the latter is not much better.

But the general sentiment in this forum (I can't remember if you were part of it) seems to be that Biden is a good President because he so strong legislatively. I am not sure how that that can be reconciled with a useless, ineffective Congress. I don't have a strong opinion either way. You guys know more about this stuff than I do. I am just wondering.

Every time I try to listen to any baseball podcast, the hosts spend the first 10 minutes talking about themselves and their boring lives. Nobody wants to hear that. Just jump into the content.

If everybody is laughing at the videos, that is a bigger problem than bullying. I hope parents teach their children not to laugh at bullying videos and to be good people. Unfortunately kids and adults like bullies which is why we have so many bullies as political leaders.

I hate bullies and parents that enable them even more. You guys are protecting your kids because you are responsibile parents. I understand that, but bullies were around before social media and they always had ways to terrorize or influence other kids. They do the same as adults and many of them bully their way into influential positons in society. They always have.

My next door neighbor showed me magazine porn when I was about 10. His brother wanted me to come with him to his friends house because he knew a girl that would give me a BJ. I think my father overheard that one and that might have been why he wouldn't let me see them anymore. They actually weren't bullies. I don't think they knew they were doing anything wrong. They had neglectful parents and every kid in the family stayed back at least once. The exception was the youngest one. All the older brothers were super protective of her. It was an interesting family.

I met both he and his wife when I went to Lakeland. Very nice people. I also met yoda and couga down there. Not surprisingly, couga spent most of the time talking liberal politics. I mostly agreed with him, but wow here we were at a minor league game surrounded by a bunch of old white male Floridians. 😀

I am looking forward to everyone panicking when one of the pitchers gets crushed in his first outing. Also looking forward to seeing which young hitter is making the all-star game after getting two hits in his first game.

I am not following this case very closely, but the answer seems obvious to me. The MAGAs probably feel as if they have more to gain politically from Biden being viewed as too old and weak than it is for him to be charged with a crime. In MAGA world, being seen as weak is far worse than being a criminal.

I don't have children, so I probably don't understand the effect of social media on them. Hasn't there always been bad influences on children? There has always been bullies and bad influences. When I was a kid, I used to wander around outside all day and some of my friends definitely were not good influences. In one case, my parents forbid me from seeing the family next door anymore. In later generations, people talked about the evils of music, tv and video games. It seems like whatever is happening today is believed to be worse than anything before it and it's going to destroy our young generation. It seems to me like young people today are nicer and smarter than they were when I was young, so where is the terrible influence?
