I don't think it was hysteria as much as constantly injecting their political opinions into baseball discussion. I mostly agreed with them, but I didn't start following them on twitter for politics. Baseball is my escape from that stuff. Anyway, it seems they have gone elsewhere as I didn't block them and I don't see them much anymore.
Choking and beating people for fun is sick behavior for both people involved, consensual or not.
That being said, I already said I wouldn't mind if the Tigers considered him.
His behavior is sick and twisted and I wouldn't want him as a friend, but I feel like the consensual part makes it less bad than some other things I won't tolerate.
We don't know that. My assumption is that the demand came from his agent. I don't know if Rodriguez agreed to it. If the demand did come from him, I still don't have a problem with it. If my employer traded me to a west coast company and I had the option to stay, I would stay due to family considerations. They would have to give me and my family something very substantial in order for me to consider it.
Beck has been covering the Tigers for four decades and has never been involved in a controversy or pissed anyone off. He also still looks 20 years old in every photo I see of him. Can he grow a real mustache yet?
Yes, but I wouldn't assume that he refused the deal so he could miss post-season. I don't get why we are saying that he didn't want to play in post-season as if it's a fact. There might have been an immediate family situation which made it difficult to disrupt his family. I mean there was a problem last year, so whatever it was might still be going on. We'll never know.
I generally let the team worry whether they want to deal with a prick. If it's OK with them, then it's OK with me. I just want talented players. There are some exceptions like wife beaters or child molestors, but Bauer doesn't fall in that category as far as I know.
The Clintons are not very likable, but both are smart. Actually, Bill apparently was likable since he won two elections, but he's one of these people that I knew was a sleazebag the first time I heard him talk, much like Trump.
Yup, we try to make things complicated but it's always about $$$. Always. The media makes big money when Trump is in the news. In fact, they are going to do everything they can to keep him in the news all next year running up to the election. They'll boost him up too necause they need him to survive. And the more his name stays out there, the more legitimate he seems.
Where did people read that he didn't want to play in post-season games?
He has pitched for 6 teams that made post-season and one of them even won the post-season tournament in 2018.
It seems like it's gotten to the point where people throw out their own theories about why he did this or that and then we start talking about them as if they are true.
I'd rather they be good for many years than one and done. However, they have had only one stretch over the last 40 year where they were successful for a long period of time.
I also don't know that the Rangers will be one and done.
I know Benetti is a great story. I have no idea whether or not he's a good broadcaster. I did just see a clip of him sounding intelligent and thoughtful which you wouldn't get from any of their other TV crew.
As usual, people are talkng about a numerical error instead of his sick twisted logic that a psychopath who shows that he's the boss is a smart person.
I was talking to my physical therapist today and the subject of election year came up. I mentioned that it appears like we will get the same two candidates as last time. She asked: "Biden and who else?" She assumed that Trump had been convicted and wouldn't qualify. There are a LOT of people like that out there who just don't care about politics or follow it much. Probably at good third of the population. Many of these people will be voting. How do you reach them?
