Yes, There are many liberals who fear what climate change will do to the earth as much as some people fear the end of democracy. I mean, our democracy won't matter at all if the earth is destroyed. So, if someone feels this way, why should they vote for Biden who they think has done virtually nothing on the climate change issue? We say that MAGAs are living in the 1950s. The kids probably think we are living in the 80s.

What if a right winger dislikes Trump and hates Biden even more and votes third party for a Libertarian. Is that the same as a vote for Trump?

I agree that the real owners of this country - the wealthy and powerful - will not allow it to be burned down. I also don't think they want all the marginalized groups you mentioned to be destroyed either. It would not be out of compassion of course. They want to be able to sell products to as many people as possible though. They'll allow these groups to have just enough so that they remain profitable assets. There will of course be hardships for many as more conservative laws are passed, but we won't lose our democracy. They will still have a vote where they can bring more liberal people back into power.

Why didn't it happen during his first presidency? Especialy the first two years when he had both the House and the Senate. "He just doesn't give a **** about anything aside from himself". I think it is unlikely that we become an authoritarian country if Trump wins. However, this is the first time in my life I thought it COULD happen which is chilling.

No it didn't. Trump got the second most votes in history. Fortunately Biden got the first most. It will gake another historic turnout to beat him again. Trump still has a ton of support. I don't think he has lost any "popularity" in 8 years. He's the same guy that won in 2016 and was too close for comfort in 2020.

I think they saw him as a good deal independent of what else they might be able to do this winter. Maybe they won't do much else at all, but I don't think the Canha trade is an indicator of that.

The relevancy is that they don't favor politicians in general.

I think a lot of voters pretend to care about the debt, but don't want to be the one who has to give up stuff up to get it under control.

Of course, he's not popular personally, but there are still are a lot of people that think he's good for the country. I would wager that the majority of white males think he's not THAT bad of a person, not bad enough where they will dismiss him politically.
