  1. I don't doubt there are scumbags in leadership positions, of course there are. When their scumbaggery goes public in today's day and age - particularly when it results in real-life consequences, like the death of a child (young adult), I think that we see that cost them their job more often than not... as it should!! Joe Paterno got driven out of his position and larger-than-life stature, and his statute taken down, despite ridiculous riots and rallies on their campus. Frankly, I would not have been upset to see Penn State get the "death penalty" or be removed from the Big Ten after that debacle. Comparing it to another tragic death, I think it's arguable that Kelly was more directly responsible for the death of Declan Sullivan at Notre Dame than DJ Durkin was for Jordan McNair's death at Maryland. I don't understand how Notre Dame (and now LSU) can forgive and forget the former as a tragic accident, while Durkin gets fired and blacklisted from all future jobs. Comparing it to Bo is tough because it did not become public until long after his departure and then more than a decade after his death. If the same happened with Harbaugh today, I would expect and hope he would be fired immediately.
  2. The fact he was allowed to continue coaching after that will never cease to astonish me.
  3. I watched the lowlights of this one earlier today. That was what I would expect from a Rutgers game, not Iowa. If they're as bad as they looked, Michigan may walk into their game against Penn State at 6-0 without breaking a sweat.
  4. I think the Eagles might be the second best team we play all year, next to the Bills.
  5. Football is back! One week from this moment we will be pulling our hair out again for those good ole Cardiac Kitties.

  7. Oregon may very well be the best team in the PAC, but that game just goes to show the massive talent disparity between conferences at this point. I don't see any reason why Georgia doesn't return to the playoff though. Florida, Kentucky, and presumably the SEC Championship are all that's left for them in terms of tests. Win 2/3 and you're in.
  8. Big Ten is 10-0 now in non-conference games. Doesn't say much given the average level of competition in those games, but still much better than the Pac-12's showing thus far. The SEC is 14-0, naturally.
  9. 100% He inherited not only a team, but a college football system, such that he couldn’t *not* succeed. An Ohio State team with no head coach could have done what he’s done the last two years. Here’s hoping it finally catches up to him.
  10. I've liked McCarthy more than I've liked Cade, but it's really difficult to tell when they don't have to open the playbook past page two to put up 51. McCarthy's skill set is likely to make him look better under such circumstances too.
  11. I hope the defensive line can look this good against a real team.
  12. Is anyone committed to making game threads? Might try my hand at it, but don't care nearly enough if someone else "owns" that role.
  13. Incredibly overdue in my opinion. This should *finally* add a competitive nature to the sport that it desperately needed. Alabama, Clemson, and Ohio State’s fun was driving fans away from the sport, not towards it.
  14. With the change in the tax code under Trump, scholarships and financial aid received for housing was reported as untaxed income. It’s not all scholarships, but that’s a pain for all of us receiving full aid.
  15. The number of Bears fans in the replies that think their team improved this offseason is concerning for their sanity…. Yet also somehow on brand for their fanbase.
  16. It knocked a few limbs down in Ann Arbor, but doesn't seem like it was quite as bad as it was elsewhere. I noticed one intersection was down the next morning on my walk. We never lost it at the house though.
  17. I’ve seen as high as 11-6 in the national media. I’m not jump off a cliff crazy about them like that, but I do think there is legitimate reason to be excited.
  18. Leatherwood is an interesting one. 17th overall pick of the 2021 draft from Alabama and gone after only one year.
  19. I think the Eagles might be really good this year if Jalen Hurts can even be halfway decent. It's a tough one to start out with, but we should see what they're made out of pretty quickly.
  20. I was going for us being up 49-0 and there being calls to protect him.... but I guess that works too. 😉
  21. Over/Under halftime of the Eagles game before someone calls for Sudfeld to come in for Goff?
