    Just saw the replay of Vierling's slide. Would have been weird if the catcher had managed to tag the dislodged helmet as it bounced off of Vierling's backside. If the helmet had been in contact with his butt at the time of a tag, would he have been out?

    To be fair, it was a pretty close shave with the heavier rain according to the radar. The 1 PM round looks like it doused the Grosse Pointes pretty well as it moved just east of due north. But now I think they'll just aim for 7 PM.

    So I think the entire Guerrero situation was caused by him jumping over the batted ball, which disrupted his footwork and caused him to take a weird path across 3B. There was nothing Kreidler could have done different, since he was likely taking a path that would have avoided Guerrero if Guerrero had taken a normal arc around the base, then had no opportunity to adjust.
