In the trade thread on Oct. 14 I said:
“We have the Vikings, Titans, and Packers before the trade deadline. Something tells me Brad and Dan will wait to see how the pass rush holds up against MIN and GB before making a trade.”
This is what has happened. Brad and Dan were never going to panic like fans, nor were the other GMs going to conduct fire sales so early. After Sunday, a lot of teams will know if they gave themselves a glimmer of hope or if their fate is sealed.
I suspect Holmes has laid the groundwork for a few possible trades with teams that might end up being sellers as of Sunday evening. If the Browns beat the Chargers I don’t think they will be sellers. If they lose, I think they will and I hope a 4th would get Smith. If Miami loses to Buffalo (likely) they will be sellers. Jeff Risdon suggests Emmanuel Ogbah who fits the size profile they look for. So yes I think they should and will make a move but it won’t be a blockbuster.
