  1. Patrick may have been an inch short, but this is his coming out party.
  2. All true. Exactly why it was going to come down to Skubal throwing 15 scoreless innings of 45 and Hinch/Fetter managing chaos. It’s remarkable they lasted as long as they did!
  3. Yeah, I’m still agitated about the fifth inning yesterday. If the Lions put up 45 in Jerry’s house, that might help me get over it.
  4. He should get his mustache an agent.
  5. That was one hell of a run. As soon as Skubal gave up the grand slam, it was over. The run was based on him dominating in every start, and on Hinch and Fetter pushing the right buttons with everyone else. There were only so many buttons to push with that roster, though. Basically every hitter other than Carpenter and Meadows disappointed. People are down on Torkelson, and rightly so, but he outhit Greene in the post-season. Had they gotten anything out of either of them they might have squeaked through. But it was all on the left arm of Skubal. He was a little less than perfect in the 5th (after Greene GIDP in the 4th, and botched a line drive in the 3rd) and that was it. Disappointing end to a historic run.
  6. "shinning" They could play ten thousand NFL seasons and this trade would never get made. Unless we send back Hutch and ASB.
  7. He won’t have to run if he hits it over the fence. 🤷🏻‍♂️
  8. Detroit will rush for 175 yards en route to a 26-19 win.
  9. I'll never understand this. The guy didn't choose to get injured. He doesn't seem to have created problems in the locker room either, since his teammates seems like they were overjoyed to see him. Is he supposed to get shunned forever because his body broke down when he was making too much money?
  10. I heard on SiriusXM NFL Radio that Joe Douglas was “consulted” by Woody Johnson on Saleh’s firing. And Johnson spoke to Rodgers before the firing, but not about the firing.
  11. Oh are we doing political commentary in here again? 😉 Saleh dug his grave when he told one of the greatest QBs in NFL history not to use one of his greatest skills. Read the room, dude.
  12. https://www.si.com/nfl/nfl-power-rankings-ravens-chiefs-lions-jets-falcons SI has three NFC North teams in the top five of its power rankings. Bears at 16. The black and blue division is back.
  13. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/if-browns-can-escape-deshaun-watson-deal-there-would-still-be-a-big-cap-charge If things fall a certain way they could void $92 million. Couldn’t get out of cap charges though.
  14. The Bengals are likely to be 6-5 going into their bye in week 12. Giants, Browns, Eagles, Raiders, Ravens (again), Chargers. It wouldn’t actually be all that surprising if they win all of those six.
  15. Wait a second. Some of us lived through those guys, after having lived through Eric Hipple, Chuck Long, Rusty Hilger, Bob Gagliano, Rodney Peete, Andre Ware, Charlie Batch, Gus Frerotte, Ty Detmer, and Mike McMahon, with the highlights being Erik Kramer and one good season of Scott Mitchell. So consider yourself lucky. 😂
  16. 16 game season.
  17. Also only works if your manager and pitching coach are effective in putting the right pitcher in the right situation and preparing him for that situation. And it takes special circumstances and a great deal of alignment between them and the front office. Probably won’t be repeated to any significant degree.
  18. When the Lions win the Super Bowl, wait for it. MCDC will be bigger than Ditka was.
  19. Micah Parsons week-to-week with high ankle sprain. PFT reports they are considering resting him for the next two weeks until their bye. He may not play against Detroit. Demarcus Lawrence on IR. Detroit has not forgotten last year’s game. I agree this will be a statement game.
  20. Well, thanks to the Tigers, it seems like the bye week came at just the right time.
  21. In 25 years when people look back on this run they’ll say, “Well, they did have Skubal, Greene, Carpenter, and Meadows.”
  22. Cards had Pujols, Molina, and a bunch of other big name vets Mets had young Tom Seaver, Tug McGraw, and Nolan Ryan. 64 Cards had young McCarver, Curt Flood, Lou Brock, Bob Gibson, oh and Roger Craig.
