  1. What is this nickel and dime crap about he's down at the one inch line? Referees are the HR scolds of sports.
  2. I see Bijan Robinson mocked as early as 4 and as late as 31. If he is available when the Lions have their first round pick (somewhere around 18) should they bite? We have seen how explosive the offense is when Swift is on his game, but he is so often off his game, and he is unlikely to make it to a second contract.
  3. Detroit has the fifth highest scoring offense in the league, despite multiple injuries to OL, RB, WR. Five of their eight losses were by a combined 17 points. Every season is its own thing, but Holmes has probably had the two best back-to-back drafts in Lions history, and for his third he has five of about the top 80 picks. Next year they should challenge for the division title.
  4. I wouldn't be shocked by this either.
  5. Scary. He's not big enough to last as an NFL QB.
  6. Yes please. And a OL and RB they can work into the rotation.
  7. Well, they were good enough to be the third or fourth hottest team in the NFC, but bad enough to let the Panthers set a franchise rushing record. This defense has no leadership. Hutch can grow into that but he is too young. Anzalone is the glue but he is not talented enough to be the leader. They need more talent and depth on DL but what they really needed today was someone on defense after the first drive to help them get their heads in the game.
  8. This team came in too full of their press clippings. Utter embarrassment.
  9. Too late to establish the run. Time to start chucking it.
  10. The most regrettable decision was the long field goal in the first Minnesota game. It was not an easy call, but you hope your kicker can make a 54 yard FG in a dome. And, frankly, how do you know if you can trust your kicker if you don't put them in that situation? You wouldn't want to put the whole game on your kicker's shoulders either, so you test him like this when you have the lead. Unfortunately he missed (and got cut). Even though we can wish Campbell went for it, the real scapegoat in this situation was the secondary who gave up 56 yards and a TD in two plays. Anyway, Campbell deserves to be at the top of every coach of the year ballot, and if he coaches the Lions to a Super Bowl victory he will become a coaching legend. Sheila and Rod and Chris Spielman nailed it with him, despite all of the complaining that they should have hired a GM and let the GM hire his coach.
  11. Would be hilarious to send the Vikes home. I’m guessing the Lions would like another shot at Philly.
  12. I was cringing too, but it worked. After the game, Fipp made the point that based on their film study and prep, plays like this may not be nearly as risky as they appear. The thing with Campbell is he could have gone into a shell after some of the criticism he received. He didn't. That took guts. Also, Fipp hints that Campbell is smarter than he lets on. These risky calls may not be fueled by bravado but by calculation.
  13. If people are going to blame DC for losing games, how about some credit for winning games? Fake punt from their own 25 in a 7-point game against the division leader? If they get that wrong, the Lions may have lost the game.
  14. Are you the one he said could come fight him?
  15. Ditka was a former tight end with a larger than life personality who became an icon that transcended the NFL. My initial post was a joke, but Campbell has two of those three boxes already checked. If he takes the Lions to their first Super Bowl victory, he might check the third.
  16. All I ever wanted was for the Lions to be coached by the second coming of Mike Ditka, and now it is happening before my very eyes.
  17. Dan Campbell’s Lions will never lose again. Book it. 😝
